Ronnie Liu Sues Khir Toyol

Selangor state exco Ronnie Liu filed a defamation suit against former Selangor MB Datuk Seri Dr Khir Toyo on Monday for allegedly defaming his character, including allegedly describing Liu as immoral and being involved in vice activities

Dr Khir had allegedly accused Liu in May of obstructing a prostitution raid at a hotel in Puchong and claimed he was therefore not fit to be in charge of the state’s local government.

Liu said the accusations were baseless and was aimed at attacking his political reputation and tarnishing his name.

He is seeking an unspecified amount of general, aggravated and exemplary damages. The suit was filed at 11.30am at the KL High Court. (The Star)

***** The Toyol deserves it. He got away with it after stirring shit and getting Teresa Kok arrested. At that time Pak Lah was unwilling to nail the Indon immigrant. This is a very good thing that Ronnie Liu has done. Syabas!

Khir Toyol's Temple Destruction Story - Samy Vellu Tells Toyol To Stop Playing Politics

MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu has told former Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Khir Toyo to stop making baseless accusations as the reasons for the Barisan Nasional's loss of the state in the general election last month.

"He has said that I gave him the go-ahead to demolish a Hindu temple (at Kampung Rimba Jaya, near Shah Alam) on Nov 15. I wish to clarify that the temple was demolished in mid-October.

"Why didn't he mention that I was the one who pleaded to him and the Prime Minister (Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi) to stop the original planned demolition of the said temple. Don't blame others for your own folly and arrogance," Samy Vellu, the former Works Minister, said in a statement here Tuesday.

In an interview with Malaysiakini, an Internet-based news portal, Khir claimed that Samy Vellu had instructed him to demolish the temple as it was used for gatherings of the Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) supporters.

"Samy Vellu called me on the night of Nov 15 and told me that the Hindraf people had infiltrated the temple and that it must be demolished that night itself," alleged Khir, who was Selangor menteri besar at the time.

"But the temple had already been demolished, with the deities already removed by the end of October and what is there to demolish anyway and why would I ask for a temple which has already been demolished to be demolished again," Samy Vellu retorted Tuesday.

He said Dr Khir should stop looking for scapegoats for the loss of the state to the opposition and take responsibility for "chasing away Indian votes from the BN".

"My request to him is to stop talking about all this and let us rebuild the BN and the component parties to get back the support of the people," he said, adding that he had great respect for Dr Khir's ability as a leader who had really turned around Selangor as a major developing state.

Meanwhile, MIC Information Chief Datuk M. Saravanan, who is also Federal Territories Deputy Minister, was more vocal against Dr Khir, telling the former menteri besar to stop making baseless accusations just to escape responsibility.

"We all know ... the whole world knows how Samy Vellu wanted to stop the demolition of the temple. We are not blind. He pleaded and pleaded but at that time the former menteri besar just refused to listen, not only to the MIC president but also to the prime minister.

"We wanted the demolition deferred but did he listen? He thought Indians were pushovers. He did not give it a second thought. If Samy Vellu has so much power that he could order the demolition of a temple, then why didn't Dr Khir listen to Samy Vellu when Samy Vellu wanted the planned demolition stopped in the first place," said Saravanan.

He said Dr Khir should first apologise to Indians in Selangor for his arrogance while in power and for treating the community as second-class citizens of the country during his tenure as menteri besar.

"We have it on record. Just look at the Tamil Nesan of Oct 31. In a statement, Dr Khir had said that he could not save the temple from being demolished because of a court order ... now he says Samy Vellu instructed him to do so," he said.

Having served as menteri besar of a state which has a multiracial electorate, Saravanan said, Dr Khir should have been more cautious in handling issues which involved race and religion but the former menteri besar was not so during his tenure.

He also told Dr Khir to stop dwelling on issues of the past and justify the wrongs of the past which he said were now haunting him.

Dr Khir had been blamed for the controversial demolition of the Kampung Rimba Jaya Hindu temple in Shah Alam, which caused Indian voters to turn their backs on the BN in the general election.

The incident has been cited by both opposition and BN members as a key factor in influencing the outcome of the March 8 polls.

The BN and Umno took the brunt of the voters' anger over this and other issues, resulting in the state government falling into opposition hands for the first time in election history. Dr Khir then resigned as Selangor Umno chief, and is now leader of the opposition in the state legislative assembly.

"My advice to him would be for him to start afresh. Only we know the damage caused by Dr Khir because of his arrogance. We are the ones facing Indian voters day in, day out. He can talk, he can blame (anyone) but at the end of the day, the community looks at us for answers," said Saravanan. (Bernama)

***** On reading the report about Toyol's accusation I had a feeling that the Toyol's version of the temple demolition didn't quite add up. Samy Vellu's strong rebuttal merely proves it.

It is so difficult to believe that an arrogant umnoputera like Toyol could be ordered around by Semi Value. Either there is something seriously wrong with Toyol's memory or he is trying to push the responsibility for Selangor's humiliating defeat to others, while at the same time hoping to divert the focus of attention from the Balkis debacle by creating a new controversy.

When is the ACA going to get off its butt and investigate the Toyol couple?

Khir Toyol Confirms He Wants To Head Umno Youth

Former Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Khir Toyo confirmed that he would be contesting for the Umno Youth chief position at the party elections in December.

Dr Mohd Khir, who spoke to reporters at the Selangor Umno headquarters on Friday, said he decided to contest for the position after receiving encouraging feedback from the party’s youth members. “I have gathered feedback on whether I was viable to contest for the position and what I received was very good,” he added.

He said there would be no change in his decision to contest if he continued to receive positive feedback.

Dr Mohd Khir also added that the vast experience gained during his tenure as mentri besar and Barisan Nasional (BN) state chief was an added asset for him to lead the youth wing. “I will be able to give the Umno youth movement a new dimension with my experiences,” said Dr Mohd Khir.

To a question if he would be obtaining the party leadership’s blessing as endorsement, Dr Mohd Khir said that anyone could contest for the post, as it was a vacated position.

When asked if he would come to an "agreement" with any other candidates vying for the same position, Dr Mohd Khir said: “I will not compromise with any other candidate as this is an open competition in which anyone can contest.”

Besides Dr Mohd Khir, Umno Youth executive council member Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir has also indicated his interest in contesting for the position.

Responding to a question if the Selangor BN’s bleak performance in the recent general election would hinder him from winning the position, Dr Mohd Khir said the state’s Umno candidates had not fared badly at all.

He said Umno had won 18 seats in the state but had lost Selangor due to national issues such as problems related to economic distribution and inter-religious affairs, among others. (The Star)

***** After the humiliating loss of Selangor to Pakatan Rakyat and having been unceremoniously dumped as state Umno chief, the Toyol must be really desperate to clinch a post which can still guarantee him a little power as well as a position in government.

Considering that he's not exactly the flavour of the month within and outside Umno, it must have taken quite a bit of courage for him to go for broke. With Mukhriz also confirming today his intention to stand for the same position, one must view with apprehension the future of the Toyol over the next few months. If Dr Mahathir sets his sights on Toyol and decides to reveal the considerable muck which he had accumulated while in the Selangor MB's office, it'll be curtains for the tempe-loving, botox-inclined former MB.

Still, there are another eight months more to party elections and anything can happen before that. Who knows? Khir Toyo might actually defeat Mukhriz and become the next Minister of Education! Look at the bright side. There aren't any temples in schools to destroy are there?

"I Am Clean," Says Khir Toyol! Do You Agree?

Former Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Khir Toyo says his conscience is clear and he has nothing to fear about SMSes and allegations of corruption.

“The decisions made during my tenure as the Mentri Besar were made at the state executive councillors’ meetings. These meetings are minuted. Everything is in black and white,” said Dr Khir when contacted yesterday.

He was commenting on an SMS going round alleging that Dr Khir, during his time as the Mentri Besar, had bought a temporary occupancy licence (TOL) piece of land in Kajang for RM2 per sq feet and made the state dvelopment corporation buy it back at RM22 per sq feet, hence pocketing RM59mil.

The SMS further alleged that he had given RM1mil each to all Kajang exco members. The SMS claimed this was discovered by the new Selangor government team as they were looking through the files.

Dr Khir said he also received the same SMS on his handphone.

“The allegation has no basis at all. Such a land purchase never happened.

“I have directed my lawyer to lodge a police report and take the necessary legal action. I am also trying to trace the person who sent me the SMS,” he said.

He added he had discharged his duties as the Mentri Besar without conducting any dubious dealings that disadvantaged the state. (The Star)

****** The toyol was brought in from the wilderness and sent straight to the Mentri Besar's chair by the then PM Dr Mahathir, after the previous MBs of Selangor had plundered the state with gay abandon. Dr M's logic was that someone untouched, untainted and not addicted to corruption could make a difference and bring to a halt the way the state had been previously mismanaged and raped. And oh what a great mistake that turned out to be!

So now Khir Toyo says he's innocent and has NEVER indulged in any acts of corruption. I wonder if many would believe him. Do you?

Asian Youths Capable Of Realising 'One Asia', Says Khir Toyol. Urge Umno To Practice 'One Malaysia' Policy First

Asian youths are capable of achieving the mission of creating `One Asia' to unite all the Asian countries into one large family grouping, thus turning the continent into one of the world's major powers, said Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo.

Asian youths had the potentials to become agents of change in the era of globalisation especially in ensuring that wealth and prosperity, peace and political stability were shared together, said Dr Mohd Khir, who is also president of the Asian Youth Council (AYC).

"If 'One Euro' could be achieved within a period of 18 years, I believe 'One Asia' can also be realised. Imagine if we can build 'One Asia', we can trade using a single currency, our economy will be strong and diplomatic relations between all the Asian countries will also be good," he said. (Bernama)

***** The irony of it all is, that the one offering this 'unity is strength' advice is that notorious squatter-evicting temple demolisher, Khir Toyol! The man who is among those responsible for riling Malaysian Indians to the point of rallying to highlight their problems. Now acting like a great unifier, this Indonesian immigrant's offspring is trying to smooth things over before the general elections.

First let him tout his unity message to the divisive forces in Umno. The racist scum there will boot him so hard that he'll dance the Reog-Ponorogo all the way back to some remote Javanese village.

Samy Vellu's Deepavali Bullshit

Samy: Demolished Temple Issue Resolved
The issue of the Hindu temple in Shah Alam that was demolished has been resolved, with the Selangor state government allocating a plot of land for the temple’s relocation.

MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu said the solution was reached after Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi directed him and Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Khir Toyo to sit down and resolve the matter.

“Earth work for the temple relocation has begun,” Samy Vellu told newsmen at the Putra World Trade Centre on Wednesday after the presidential address at the Umno general assembly.

Samy Vellu, who is Works Minister, stressed that the MIC had never looked at the temple demolition issue as a religious problem but more as an administrative weakness.

“Only I as the president had voiced my view on the matter to the Prime Minister and Mentri Besar,” he said.

“I have spoken to the Prime Minister and I have told him that we will all celebrate Deepavali,” he said, adding that he would also attend the national-level Deepavali celebrations in Brickfields on Nov 11. (The Star)

***** The way that Samy Vellu puts it, it's as if he's achieved something great. Note the typical arrogance with which he says
“only I as the president had voiced my view on the matter to the Prime Minister and Mentri Besar.” But neither Samy Vellu nor the others have explicitly stated that it is the inherent right of every religious group to have their places of worship without official hindrance or discrimination.

The reality is that Toyol told him to f*** o** when Sam first approached him to postpone the temple demolition. After all what can he gain by delaying the destruction? By remaining adamant and demolishing the temple, Toyol gained a couple of pahala points and came across as an Umno warrior unbending in his day-and-night sworn duty to 'struggle' and fight for bangsa, agama dan negara. Who knows, this temple issue may literally be a heaven sent opportunity for the vertically challenged Selangor MB to ascend the Umno ladder.

After being told to piss off by the dwarf-sized Toyol and seeing the anger expressed by various sections of Malaysians, Sam tried some damage control by threatening to cancel Deepavali open houses being hosted by MIC leaders. (Isn't it true that in Malaysia the only ones who actually have open house celebrations, as fake as they may be, for the various festivals are the political parties?) That boycott threat backfired when the PM soundly rapped both of Sam's knuckles until he screamed, "aiyo aiyo no boycott lah master. I've been misquoted"

In all probability Sam would have then approached Pak Lah, crying and begging to be heard. He would have told him a scary story of how almost every non-Malay is upset and angry with continuous demolitions. With a considerable number of Indians openly saying that they will never vote for MIC and BN
again, Sam would have painted a doomsday scenario of embarrassing losses in the next elections, especially since the Chinese too have said the same thing several times in the past year.

Pak Lah, not willing to take a risk at a time when his own popularity is on the decline, would have leaned on the short statured Indonesian dentist in Selangor. Under such pressure from the PM, the rabidly chauvinistic toyol thinking of his own political future and not wishing to annoy the Umno president, would have approved unwanted TOL land in some hidden area for Samy Vellu's temple.

Now Samy Vellu is crowing success, at least until the next temple is bulldozed and pulverized somewhere else in this increasingly fanatical country we call home. And let not Sam forget that Toyol is an ambitious Indon. He will furtively sanction a few more demolitions of temples in the run up to the next elections. His target is the Malay voter. The others can go to hell.

"Be Fair, Let Zakaria 'Serve' The Rakyat While Facing 39 Charges In Court" Says Khir Toyo!

Port Klang state assemblyman Datuk Zakaria Md Deros, who is facing 39 charges under the Companies’ Act with five other people, can continue serving his constituents until the court makes its decision, said Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo.

He added that there was nothing wrong with Zakaria at the moment and he should be able to continue with his duties as a state assemblyman.

On dealing with public perception with a person facing charges in a court, Dr Khir described it as something that was not good.

“This is the problem with Malaysians. They love to jump to conclusions.

“It is not right. We should wait and see the outcome of the legal proceeding first and for the time being, he can continue with his duties as a state assemblyman,” he told reporters after officially opening the Pekan Wanita Umno delegates’ meeting at Pekan District Council Hall here Saturday.

Zakaria was charged with five directors in the Klang Sessions Court on Friday. (TheStar update)

***** Why am I not surprised by this very 'humanitarian' gesture and decision by the MB? The truth is that Toyol loves Zak (Mad) Deros both as a human being and as a Wakil Rakyat who is continously 'struggling' for bangsa, agama dan negara. As he plainly said, there is nothing wrong with Zakaria at the moment. The inference is that until he is charged, found guilty, sentenced and imprisoned, Zak can go on 'struggling' for his constituents. Of course he didn't quite mention that by the time our man Zak starts counting bars, the next pilihanraya would have been long over.

Mind you, these 39 charges have nothing to do with the hush-hush palace which Zak had built while simultaneously and resolutely 'struggling' for the rakyat. Apparently he got away scot free on the Istana fiasco with a little help from his comrade.

At one time I had wondered if Toyol and Zak's forefathers were from the same or nearby kampung in Indonesia and I still don't know the answer to that. All I've read is that they are bosom buddies who look out for each other. Therefore you can now appreciate the reason why Toyol did not ask Zak to go on leave till his name was cleared and instead resorted to blaming Malaysians as a whole for their collective negative perception about those charged in court when he said, "this is the problem with Malaysians. They love to jump to conclusions. It is not right."

One must wonder where Toyol's loyalty really lies? To the oath of office he took or to a fellow politician and saudara in 'berjuang-ing'? Meanwhile Zak Mad Deros has been given an extended lease of political life by courtesy of the toyol and should logically continue to make hay while the Selangor sun shines. Semuanya OK!

Umno Can Remain Relevant In Future Only If NEP Is Priority, Says Khir Toyo

That's honesty for you. Very truthful of Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohamed Khir Toyo to tell it as it is. In essence what he is saying is: "If There Is No NEP, Then Out Goes Umno." So forget about all that "we are continuing our struggle demi bangsa, agama dan negara" crap. Ultimately it boils down to Umno's very existence. Period.

Not only that, he voluntarily disclosed that Umno is pretty distrustful of the average Malay and wouldn't be surprised and indeed expects him to jump ship if ever he feels that it is more advantageous to support the opposition. To quote Khir Toyo, "without such a thrust (NEP), the Malays could switch their support to religion-based parties such as PAS or other opposition parties including Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR)."

So basically these insecure fellas can keep on ruling and pretty much do as they please as long as they ply the Malays with goodies day after day after day. Much like the British Opium strategy in China but only with something more addictive - fast money, secure jobs with out of turn promotions, easy access to education whether deserving or not. The works, the whole enchilada.

As an indication that there will not be a let up in the continued implementation of the Never Ending Policy, (and who can blame them since they are desirous in ruling till perpetuity?) Khir Toyo further added, "other Barisan Nasional parties should thus not be unduly concerned if the NEP was retained."

So it will be retained! For how long? Until Umno decides that they as a party don't want to exist anymore. And in which century or millennium do you think that will be?

Continuing the usual sandiwara which these guys have become specialists in, Khir Toyo blatantly and with a straight face lied while claiming that the NEP had not resulted in other races being marginalised since its introduction in the 1970s!!!!

Desperate Khir Toyo Threatens Ijok Voters And Warns The Opposition.

In a last ditch effort to ensure a victory for Barisan in the Ijok by-election and thereby preserving his own position, Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo resorted to desperately threatening and browbeating voters into supporting the ruling party. Probably realizing that his own political career would go down the chute if BN fails, this stunted desperado warned that it was 'difficult' to implement development in a constituency where the elected representative was not from the BN.

What arrogance! After openly attempting to bribe the Ijok electorate by plying RM36 million in quick fix 'development projects', and having perhaps seen the writing on the wall, a despondent Toyo tried the only ploy left in his bag of dirty tricks - voter intimidation. In true dictatorial fashion he declared from on high, "if the elected representative is not aligned to us (BN), it is difficult for us to implement development. The matter is similar to that in Kelantan where PAS is in power; the BN elected representatives who are in the opposition there have difficulty obtaining financial allocations.

"In Selangor, the BN is in power. (Therefore) development will be implemented according to our rules," he said. As such, "the Ijok voters had to elect the candidate who could bring development to their area!"

So basically Toyo is saying "either vote for the BN or shrivel and die." And this man, my dear friends is the leader of a 'developed' state in a progressive democracy!! What mockery.

Read about this pitiful creature's rambling HERE.

An Uncaring Leader's Unconvincing Explanation

The Selangor government is in no position to give the squatter land in Kampung Berembang, Ampang, and Taman Rimba Jaya, Shah Alam, to the squatters as demanded by them as the two sites are privately owned.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo, who said this, also stated that the court had decided that the two pieces of land were under private ownership.

"The (squatters) are occupying other people's land. The land will never be theirs as they are private land. They want the land but I can't give it to them," he told reporters after chairing the state exco meeting here Wednesday.

Dr Mohamad Khir said the state government had "intervened" in the two squatter areas so as to help the squatters obtain compensation. "The state government must not be blamed. If it had not intervened, the squatters would not get anything."

He regretted the incident where his officers were injured when stones were thrown at them by protestors when they tore down the squatter homes.

He also said that the Selangor government had completed the process of relocating 92 per cent of 47,000 squatter families in the state.

On another matter, he said the state government was carrying out a programme until the end of the year, to legalise "problematic" factories. "There are 3,700 such factories which qualify to be legalised because their locations are not causing problems to the local residents. Among the problems involving the factories is the failure to change the land status from agricultural to industrial."

He said the state government was giving the opportunity for the factories to be legalised so as not to 'lose investment in an increasingly competitive world'. "However, less than 50 of these prolematic factories will not be given the licence as they are located near rivers, the land are not owned by them, have no sales and purchase agreement or are occupying Public Works Department reserve land," he added. (Bernama)

***** Poor Khir Toyo, he sounds so sad. Must be feeling depressed while solemnly thinking of the hardship, the pain and the trauma undergone by his officers who were injured while trying to bulldoze and demolish the residences of real people and not dummies in a film studio set. His poor pegawai2; I'm sure that they'll be adequately compensated for their wiraism. And what about the pesky squatters? We can assume that as far as Toyo is concerned they could be shipped off to Addis Ababa for all he cares. Private ownership of the land in question has been restored and his sworn constitutional duties as a pemimpin have been performed to perfection. The rich guys have won and are happy while the poor sods have been shown their place. What more can he ask? If only his officers had not been injured though. That would have been a merry ending for a day of hard work by our benevolent Menteri Besar. Hidup Khir Toyo! Hidup Barisan!

Selangor Government's Criminal Treatment Of TOL Status Residents.

The greed and avarice of Selangor state government leaders and politicians is well known. No one disputes that these ravenous leeches in human form are sucking the people dry and no one is able to understand why they are still kept in power! But that is the way things are done in our fair land of late and most of us are unable to do anything about it. Criminals and their nefarious activities under the guise of 'political leadership' are being condoned and the looting goes on unimpeded. Related below is the sad story of about 130 families who have and are still suffering because of the unquenchable thirst for ill-gotten wealth by Barisan Nasional politicians. Read and worry for your future.

More than 130 families who were relocated to new villages in Pandamaran in 1953 and given temporary occupation licences (TOLs) are today on the verge of being left out in the cold. "We were threatened and intimidated to accept paltry compensations and move after the 1995 General Election," said Ang Mah Chye, chairman of the Jalan Papan Residents Working Committee.

Their hopes, however, ran high in 1997 when the land where their houses stand was alienated to Bank Negara's Syarikat TPPT Sdn Bhd to develop Jalan Papar and its surroundings occupied by some 1,000 families. After many rounds of negotiations and demonstrations, the Selangor Government, in a letter dated March 10, 2004, agreed to TPPT's development proposal which included building 100 18ft x 65ft terrace houses to be sold to them at less than RM100,000.

Ang alleged that before the project could take off, some politicians from Barisan Nasional (BN) started lobbying to secure the project. "TPPT got fed up and offered to sell the land to us for us to develop according to the proposed plan which had been approved by Klang Municipal Council (MPK) and the state.

"Since we could not afford to buy up the land and develop by ourselves, we found a developer who agreed to help us. The developer also gave up when the politicians again used subtle intimidation tactics to frighten the developer.

"Again we found another developer who was willing to build even bigger terrace houses (1,396 sq ft built up area) and offer 220 units, instead of 100, for sale to us at less than RM100,000. This time, TPPT just ignored this more superior offer.

"We have been told the politicians have found their own developer and the offer was only for flats and that we would be relocated to another site near factories and swamps," said Ang.

"What has become of our politicians from the ruling government? Not only are they working against our interests, they are also sabotaging superior offers and compensations from developers who are prepared to help us."

The families' TOL status was terminated in 1993, effectively making them squatters. The MPK issued an eviction notice in 2005.

Speaking to TheSun at his committee's informal meeting last night to discuss their plight and options, Ang said today would be crucial when the court injunction they had obtained to stop the MPK from demolishing their houses expires. "We do not know for sure if we can get an extension of the injunction. The MPK will not hesitate to tear down our houses if there is no injunction."

Ang was also incensed over the MPK's action when they issued on May 24, 2005, a notice under the Emergency Ordinance 1969 (EO). "The EO was gazetted and used against Communists in 1969. If that is not intimidation, what is?" Ang asked.

Committee member V. Seelan, 25, said: "We are not unreasonable people. We are not asking for houses to be built for us free. We are paying. "Just don't give us a raw deal. Just fulfil what you (Selangor state government) offered in your letter, and politicians, please stop the sabotage."

Seelan said his family paid the annual property assessment up to 2004 upon receiving notices even though the land had been alienated to TPPT after the 1995 general election.

"The then Selangor Mentri Besar (Tan Sri Muhammad Muhd Taib) had even, during election campaigning, announced that TOLs would continue to be issued," he said. (TheSun)

Crooked Local Authorities Of Selangor. Khir Toyo 'Annoyed.'

A president and enforcement chief of two local authorities in Selangor may face the wrath of the state authorities for condoning illegal activities in areas under their purview.

They are Sabak Bernam District Council president over the recently exposed illegal gambling activities in Sekinchan, and Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) enforcement chief where a theme park in Cheras has been
operating without a licence for eight years.

Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo said based on reports, the Sabak Bernam District Council president had approved the extension of the licence for the premises in Sekinchan which were later discovered conducting illegal gambling activities.

A police team from Bukit Aman led by CID director Datuk Christopher Wan Soo Kee raided the four premises in Sekinchan, located just across the road from the Sekinchan police station, last Jan 6 during which 188 gambling machines and 53 video-game machines valued at RM723,000, were seized.

Speaking to reporters after a monthly assembly with government employees here today, Mohamad Khir said he had directed State Secretary Datuk Ramli Mahmud to set up a task force to look into enforcement issues to prevent similar incidents from recurring.

"We can no longer accept excuses like they overlooked such cases because this is the responsibility of the enforcement unit. The officers concerned should carry out checks and take action without any favouritism," he added.

The theme park in Cheras was found to be operating without a licence after a worker drowned in a high-pressure water pump compartment there.

He said checks at entertainment premises should be carried out from time to time to ensure they were not used for illegal activities.

"If they cannot monitor, issue less licences," the Menteri Besar said.

***** So Khir Toyo can "no longer accept" the excuses by these corrupt people. All this while I suppose he has been naively believing their fairy tales and has been convinced that 'developed' Selangor has corruption free local councils! Why the sudden u-turn? Because they have been openly exposed, caught red-handed or the police are beginning to become less 'accomodating?' Why is it that only when there is no chance of covering-up or an issue has been blown up and plastered all over the national press and internet, that these state 'leaders' own up that everything is not hunky-dory and feign shock and disgust. In this respect, Khir Toyo is a Past Master in this form of histrionics.

An Excellent Example Of Why Education Should Be Left To The Experts And Not State Governments.

Politicians tend to screw up everything that lies in their destructive paths. Their prime motivation is self-enrichment and preservation of power and if along the way they do some good, it is purely incidental and unintended. The way that educational institutions in this country have been wrecked by these very politicians is a testament to the amateurish fashion in which such a crucial component of our nation's future and well-being has been tinkered with. Read of the goings on in Selangor, the land that gave the world that now notorious term - 'Toyolism,' in this Bernama report.

The Selangor government has taken over the management of Universiti Industri Selangor (Unisel) and INPENS International College from its investment arm Kumpulan Darul Ehsan Bhd (KDEB).

Effective Jan 2, both Unisel and INPENS were under the purview of Menteri Besar Inc, comprising the State Secretary and Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo.

Unisel and INPENS formerly known as Kolej Industri dan Pendidikan Negeri Selangor had been placed under the KDEB stable since 2003 following a directive from Khir Toyo for KDEB to revamp the institutes' management.

State Education, Sports and Human Development Committee Chairman Datuk Ahmad Nawawi M. Zin confirmed the development but did not elaborate.

An education observer said the move would allow the state government to be involved directly with education, one of the subjects that was close to the government's heart.

The observer said that the institutes would be better managed under the direct state government supervision and made funding easier.

"They can be run better. Problems can be solved faster," he said.

Sources also said that INPENS was in the midst of searching for new operation site as its current location in Bandar Armada Putra of Pulau Indah, Port Klang would be rented out to the International Islamic University (UIA) for their matriculation programme.

INPENS is currently renting the building from Kumpulan Hartanah Selangor Bhd, a subsidiary of KDEB.

Prior to the relocation in Pulau Indah in 2004, INPENS was located in Section 7 here.

It is believed that the majority of INPENS community are in favour of returning to their previous campus in Section 7 here, largely viewed as more strategically located for a higher learning institution.

The education observer said should INPENS return here, it was likely that the college could improve its current sagging students intake.

INPENS diploma intake is said to have declined to about 600 now from 1,600 students previously.

***** I find the reasoning for this transfer of power, strange. If the move is to get easier access to funds what better source than the state investment arm? Yet it is being taken away from them! Why? Inefficient management? Heavy cock up somewhere along the line? Or is there a lot of money to be made by some if the management is taken over by the state government?

Why has the intake of students dwindled so badly? And why are the current premises being taken over and rented out to another institution of higher learning? When such action is taken by the Selangor state government without any details or refusal to elaborate you can bet that there is something sinister going on. Call me paranoid, but I don't trust the 'toyolism' infecting the sick patient that is Selangor.

Sultan’s Vision For Selangor Should Include Sacking Khir Toyo.

The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, says he has a vision – to have a state where its people have a chance to be successful and parents dream of making it a place to raise their children.

“I want Selangor to be a dream state, for every resident who wants development and love peace. I want every child born in Selangor to be given a hope, that with dedicated efforts, they, too, have a chance to make their dreams come true,” the Sultan said at the investiture ceremony in conjunction with his 61st birthday at the Istana Alam Shah here yesterday.

Sultan Sharafuddin said it would be meaningless for him to sit on the throne if his subjects were unable to have a good life and were riddled with problems. He said since he became the Sultan five years ago, Selangor had achieved intense growth, and was recognised as a developed state.

However, the Sultan noted that many areas could still be improved to ensure that his subjects of various races could live good and comfortable lives.

Sultan Sharafuddin said there was no point in declaring Selangor a developed state if service was still lacking.

“Complaints from the people, if not attended to immediately, will cause them to live uncomfortably,” he added.

Therefore, he urged elected representatives, government officers, civil servants, village heads, non-governmental organisation members, society leaders and the people to work together to ensure that service in the state would be more efficient.

He advised elected representatives to focus on resolving the people's problems swiftly, adding:

“You should not be selfish and take advantage of your post to benefit yourself and your cliques. I'm worried that this behaviour will only bring about dissatisfaction to the people and they will suffer in the end.”

There were also elected representatives who were councillors or board members in government-owned companies, the Sultan said, calling on them to adhere to the laws and regulations.

Sultan Sharafuddin advised government officers and civil servants to be more open-minded and mature in dealing with problems.

He urged government officers to ensure that work was carried out without being delayed by bureaucracy. (TheStar)

***** Selangor is indeed very fortunate to get such a caring ruler. His Royal Highness should now focus his attention on the one man who can wreck his noble vision and that culprit is the Menteri Besar Khir Toyo who aids and abets every wrong perpetrated in the name of the people and the government. If Selangor is to achieve true developed status unlike the bogus one foisted on the state, then dismissing Khir Toyo is the only recourse. The day that he is shown the door will be the day that Selangor can heave a sigh of relief and say "Semuanya OK."

Spending RM40,000 On A Seminar For 50 People Is Peanuts, Says Selayang Municipal Council President!

Of course that mother-of-all-wastrels, Selayang Municipal Council president Zainal Abidin Azim can say what he likes. After all it is not his hard earned money. It is the ratepayer's blood and sweat that he is squandering.

The gumption of that man is quite incredible. Among the gems in his statements:

1) The three-day, two-night stay at the Awana Golf and Country Resort for MPS councillors and department heads was a working trip aimed at fostering good ties.
2) A
ccommodation for the seminar was being provided on a twin-sharing basis, which showed that the council was prudent with its expenses.
3)
“I don’t think spending RM40,000 on a seminar for 50 people can be considered an expensive venture!”

***** Why, I would like to know, is it that only in a luxury surrounding such as the
Awana Golf and Country Resort can good ties be fostered? Can it not be achieved at the workplace? Or does the 'fostering' require more 'conducive' surroundings like those purportedly used by a certain political pair?

Why spend forty thousand ringgit on a totally purposeless seminar which can be held at the council building itself? Will the president or the other monkeys calling themselves councillors have gone ahead with this luxury meeting if they had to bear the entire expense? Just because they have control over the ratepayers' money, do they have the guts to splurge like this. They are nothing but a bunch of greedy freeloaders and should be condemned as such.

Profligacy, Thy Name Is Selayang Municipal Council.

IT LOOKS like local governments and councillors have not learnt anything from the recent negative publicity surrounding their actions. It has in fact become worse, especially where the Selayang Municipal Council (MPS) is concerned.

It seems that the boardroom isn't good enough for it to hold its full board meeting and seminar. The Awana Genting Highlands Golf and Country Resort (AGHGCR) seems more suited for the three-day event beginning Sunday.

All in all, some 50 staff, including heads of departments would be attending the event and staying at the hill resort. The entire cost, between RM30,000 to RM40,000, is borne by the MPS.

A source said the council had booked 40 double deluxe rooms for the three-day, two-night stay in AGHGCR. The package comes with five meals a day and a convention room for the seminar.

Residents are fuming mad.

Ahmad Fadzil, 46, a resident in Pinggiran Batu Caves, wondered why was it so hard for MPS to understand that such trips were a waste of taxpayers' money. “There are several potholes and numerous streetlights are not lit in my area,'' he said. “The money should be to good use such as rectifying these problems, not on working holidays.''

DAP Selangor state exco member M. Batumalai, who is also a resident of Bandar Country Homes, Rawang, agrees. “The money could be used to help poor people in the area or even food problems in Rawang,'' he said. “It is unethical for MPS to abuse public funds like this,'' said the 39-year-old who has been a resident in the area for the past four years.

Bandar Country Homes Residents' Association chairman Soong Beng Khoon said it was fine to hold a seminar since there were six newly-elected councillors for the 2006-2008 term. “But full board meetings are where residents' issues are discussed. Why not begin this by making it more convenient and cheaper by holding it at the MPS building premises itself?''

MPS president Zainal Abidin Azim could not be contacted for comments. (TheStar)

***** So the gravy train goes on and on, unimpeded, uncorrected and undisciplined. Speaks volumes of the non-governance prevalent in Selangor today. These wastrels are spending thirty to forty thousand ringgit of the people's money AND no one can stop or question them! The MPS president remains nonchalantly unavailable for comment, perhaps until the gala event is over. After all the Auditor-General's query on this monumental waste will only come after five years, so why worry now?

What is the Capo di tutti capi of Selangor, Don Toyo doing about this? Or must even a council matter be referred to the PM before action is taken? When will the scourge of toyolism and its evil perpetrators be finally banished from the once pristine land of Selangor? The State and the residents have been inflicted with so much punishment over the years, I sometimes worry if the damage done is reversible.

Klang Municipal Council Symbolises Everything That Ails Selangor.

In TheStar today:

The oath-taking ceremony for the Klang Municipal Council set for tomorrow has been postponed again. “The Selangor state government advised the council to postpone the ceremony until all issues surrounding the councillors-designate have been settled,” said council president Abdul Bakir Zin when contacted yesterday.

This is the second postponement for the MPK. The original date for the oath-taking was Oct 19 but it was held back when controversy erupted over Port Klang state assemblyman Datuk Zakaria Md Deros constructing a mansion in Kampung Idaman without approval. Zakaria also drew flak for other offences such as not paying the assessments for his current house in Kampung Idaman and the Umno office in Port Klang, for more than 10 years.

Two other councillors, Datuk Mazlynoor Abdul Latiff and Faisal Abdullah, were later found to have also built their bungalows, in Kampung Raja Uda here, without getting the necessary approvals. Zakaria and Faisal have since given up their council positions. Mazlynoor submitted his applications and got them approved by the council recently. He is still a councillor.

Last week, Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Khir Toyo said another five councillor-designates had also failed to pay assessments and submitted theirbuilding plans, and that they had to settle the problems before they could be sworn in.

They are Klang Umno division acting youth chief Zainuri Zakaria, Kapar Umno division secretary Samak Ahmad, Klang Umno division vice-chairman Nasaruddin M. Zin, Klang MIC division chief Alex Thiagarasan Palaniaya and Kapar MCA Youth chief Datuk Song Kee Chai. There are five vacancies among the 23 councillors’ posts. Umno needs to fill three seats while MCA and MIC each need to fill one post.

Abdul Bakir said the state government wanted all councillors-designate to be free of wrongdoings to set a good example to the public. Dr Khir wants all councillors to settle their “dues” before Dec 31 or face the risk of being permanently dropped.

Klang District Officer Bakhtiar Hussein said his officers, with the help of the MPK enforcement unit, will demolish the DZ Satay House restaurant at Jalan Pandamaran at 9.30am today. Bakhtiar said he had asked the police for personnel on standby to thwart any untoward incident.

***** Remember this is the second postponement of the oath-taking ceremony. What does it imply? It simply means that the bloody Majlis hasn't done a damned thing about rectifying the earlier problems. And why should they? It's not as if it is a big problem as far as they are concerned. This is how things have been done for a long time, and especially so after that short-statured dentist took the MB's chair. He has been condoning this and more all this while and if the MPK has been forced to put off their oath-taking, it is because of pressure from higher up the ladder, either the Sultan or some very senior Umno figure.

This sort of stubborn refusal to change for the better and desperately trying to maintain the status quo is happening all over the state of Selangor. I'm sure that if some independent investigators were allowed to go through the state finances, administration and procedures, they will come up with very interesting discoveries regarding the extent to which the government of Khir Toyo has ruined the state machinery and has subverted the various local councils and authorities. It doesn't require much imagination to realize the extent to which he has stacked every council and every entity however remotely connected to the state government, with his men and women. This has a dual purpose. Firstly there is greed and the overwhelming need to enrich oneself and one's cronies which leads to the second objective; the preservation and prolongation of political power. After all Toyo was a parachute candidate foisted on the unsuspecting citizens of Selangor by the former PM Dr Mahathir, ostensibly to cleanup the rampant corruption prevailing there. And oh what a great job he has done!! With no power base to speak of, he cunningly misused and abused the system to empower and cushion himself at the same time.

So it's not very surprising to see what is transpiring at the MPK. It is merely symbolic of what is taking place throughout the negeri and if the federal leaders wish to save the state from more harm, the right time has already passed and each day that they persist in keeping Toyo and his ilk in power, will see more of Selangor wallowing and slithering in slime.

Khir Toyo Attempts Double-Dealing Again.

The deceitful tricks this man will use to get his friend Zakaria Md Deros off the hook! He has apparently stayed up at night poring over details of every building in Selangor built illegally and after doing his homework on behalf of partner in slime Zakaria, this dimunitive dentist had a lot to say to justify the preservation of the greedy palace builders istana.

Let’s be realistic – there are a lot of buildings in Selangor built without proper local council approval. “I have been told I must be fair; to act without fear or favour. If so, then these properties and building extensions are also subject to demolition. Such properties include temples and even the headquarters of political parties. If I go strictly by the book instead of taking into account public interest and racial harmony, imagine the outcry if I were to execute the demolition orders.”

So in Khir Toyo's perverted logic two, three or more wrongs do make a right! Or is it another attempt at allowing Zakaria to keep his illegal palace built from ill-gotten gains? Where was the compassion for others when local squatters had their houses demolished while Toyo's Indonesian cousins got away scot free?

Why is Khir Toyo so hell-bent on pushing this issue to help a known, disgraced crook like Zakaria? What's in it for him? Any answers?

Khir Toyo's Desperate Damage Control Bid.

You've got to hand it to this Indon migrant's son. He knows when the chips are down and how to simply bluff his way through all his deeds of omission and commission. At least that's what he thinks.

The puny dentist put up his press secretary to issue a statement, a barefaced lie of a statement, that the Selangor government had been sincere and on the ball regarding the whole sordid Zakaria affair. The bugger came out with a clarification over the 'assumption' that it had remained inactive in the case of a controversial mansion built in Klang until after its owner had met the sultan last Saturday on a palace order.

According to this 'penjelasan' the state government had asked Datuk Zakaria Md Deros, owner of the mansion built without approval from the Klang Municipal Council (MPK), to step down as an MPK councillor before the request was made public as well as before Zakaria's audience with Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah. Zakaria had also been asked to inform the sultan during the audience of his impending resignation as an MPK councillor, it said.

The utterly false statement further lied that the matter was not made public at that time because the state government wanted to give Zakaria the opportunity to act in the interests of the people and the state and resolve the issue without embarrassing anyone. But when Zakaria failed to act as instructed, the state government had to come out with the announcement!! What kind of bullshitting is this? Does Toyo take us for fools? Maybe he does. After all some of our idiots actually went and actively participated in the Selangor 'developed state' celebrations.

Today's statement also said that the state government had decided that no more than two relatives will be allowed to hold posts as councillors of local councils at any one time. It said candidates for the posts of councillors would be screened to ensure that they did not owe the councils any arrears in assessment rates or any other payment whatsoever. The statement said all councillors have been given two months to settle any arrears in payments. But this was not the tune that Toyo was singing last week. Then he was cocksure about himself and did not expect the Sultan to directly intervene. This was reinforced by the PM's decision to leave it to Toyo to deal with Zakaria. He seemed so emboldened and openly became the apologist-in-chief for Zakaria.

Now Toyo in order to save his butt passes around the blame like free candy, implicating the police and the ACA when the statement said that the appointment of councillors in Selangor was made after the candidates had undergone tight screening by the police and Anti-Corruption Agency to ensure the appointed councillors were people of integrity and responsibility. Basically he has kept himself in the clear by saying, "maaf bradder tapi ACA dan polis yang approve Si Zakaria ini, bukan saya."

There are a few more blatant lies and falsehoods in the 'damage control statement' forced upon his press secretary by the despicable MB. You can read the entire litany of the bluffmaster's untruths here.

MPAJ - The Evil Authority.

This morning Bernama released a report on the plight of squatters who are bona fide Malaysian citizens in Ulu Klang. On reading it I was reminded of the footages I've seen on CNN where Israeli tanks steamrolled into Palestinian territory destroying everything in sight and the unarmed, hapless population could only look on. The report tells us of the extreme cruelty of the Ampang Municipal Council (MPAJ) enforcement authorities, the partiality they practice towards non-citizens especially Indonesians who perhaps have bribed them outright, to be spared the demolishers' wrath and the indifference shown by their officers towards the suffering inflicted on fellow citizens. All because they are poor and have no recourse to anyone who will help them. Ironically this report was released on our 49th Merdeka Day!(August 31, 2006 00:50 AM) Read on.....

......Squatters in Batu 8 in Ulu Klang here, whose homes were demolished earlier this month to make way for development, want the government to keep its promise to provide them with alternative housing and monetary compensation. "We only want what is right and what has been promised to us. We are not against development or the government," said Khairuddin Mohamad, 44, who said that he spoke on behalf of the affected squatters.

Khairuddin, who said he represented some 100 squatters who had lived there, said the Ampang Municipal Council (MPAJ) had demolished their homes on Aug 1 without notice. He said that most of them were low-income earners and could not afford to rent houses elsewhere, prompting 15 families to raise tents in the area, while the others shifted elsewhere or stayed with their relatives.

He said that last Friday, MPAJ personnel again came and this time tore down their tents to get rid of them. Parts of the place were also blocked off using zinc fences. "They tore everything down without any regards to our things and equipment. It rained heavily that evening, so we raised our tents again as we have nowhere else to go. We have to live inside tents without electricity and water supply," he told Bernama when met at his family's tent there.

The retired soldier, who now works as a labourer, has lived there since the 1970's with his wife and three children aged 22, 18 and 14.

What amazed them was that other squatters, mostly Indonesians, living adjacent to their area were not disturbed by the local authorities.

"When we asked them (MPAJ) why the adjacent squatter area was not demolished, they replied that they do not know, and that they were just doing their jobs. We feel there is no justice," Khairuddin said.

He said the action to demolish their homes was made after the Shah Alam High Court on July 31 rejected their appeal to move only when their new homes were ready. "Under the agreement we made with the government in 2005, we were to move immediately when the low-cost houses, being built at Sungai Sering, Ukay Perdana, are completed in 2007. "The government had also promised to give RM400 a month compensation as rent for the new place for two years, and RM500 to rent a lorry for shifting expenses.

"The problem now is that the houses, being built since 2005, are not ready because of being abandoned. The construction work on them also seemed to have proceeded at a snail's pace as though on purpose, so much so that only a few percent of the project was done," he said.

Khairuddin said the land they were occupying was previously owned by the government, but between 2004 and 2005, it was bought over by a developer.

He hoped that the government and other relevant authorities would come and see their plight and discuss with them possible solutions to the issue.

"Since the demolition, none of MPAJ's representatives have come to see us and help find a solution to our problem. In fact, Ulu Klang Assemblyman Datuk Ahmad Bujang, has also never come to this place or is aware of our existence," he said, adding that MPAJ should send its representatives to hold a dialogue with them for not keeping its promises.

**** As you would have read by now, even the elected representative, the Yang Berhormat who fought tooth and nail to be elected to 'serve the people' could not be bothered. Why should he? These are not rich people, he's already got his mandatory Datuk title and has probably started 'saving' enough for a rainy day. The last thing he needs to hinder his 'struggle' for bangsa dan negara are these troublemakers.

Selamat Hari Merdeka everyone!!!
