Sultan’s Vision For Selangor Should Include Sacking Khir Toyo.

The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, says he has a vision – to have a state where its people have a chance to be successful and parents dream of making it a place to raise their children.

“I want Selangor to be a dream state, for every resident who wants development and love peace. I want every child born in Selangor to be given a hope, that with dedicated efforts, they, too, have a chance to make their dreams come true,” the Sultan said at the investiture ceremony in conjunction with his 61st birthday at the Istana Alam Shah here yesterday.

Sultan Sharafuddin said it would be meaningless for him to sit on the throne if his subjects were unable to have a good life and were riddled with problems. He said since he became the Sultan five years ago, Selangor had achieved intense growth, and was recognised as a developed state.

However, the Sultan noted that many areas could still be improved to ensure that his subjects of various races could live good and comfortable lives.

Sultan Sharafuddin said there was no point in declaring Selangor a developed state if service was still lacking.

“Complaints from the people, if not attended to immediately, will cause them to live uncomfortably,” he added.

Therefore, he urged elected representatives, government officers, civil servants, village heads, non-governmental organisation members, society leaders and the people to work together to ensure that service in the state would be more efficient.

He advised elected representatives to focus on resolving the people's problems swiftly, adding:

“You should not be selfish and take advantage of your post to benefit yourself and your cliques. I'm worried that this behaviour will only bring about dissatisfaction to the people and they will suffer in the end.”

There were also elected representatives who were councillors or board members in government-owned companies, the Sultan said, calling on them to adhere to the laws and regulations.

Sultan Sharafuddin advised government officers and civil servants to be more open-minded and mature in dealing with problems.

He urged government officers to ensure that work was carried out without being delayed by bureaucracy. (TheStar)

***** Selangor is indeed very fortunate to get such a caring ruler. His Royal Highness should now focus his attention on the one man who can wreck his noble vision and that culprit is the Menteri Besar Khir Toyo who aids and abets every wrong perpetrated in the name of the people and the government. If Selangor is to achieve true developed status unlike the bogus one foisted on the state, then dismissing Khir Toyo is the only recourse. The day that he is shown the door will be the day that Selangor can heave a sigh of relief and say "Semuanya OK."
