Samy Vellu's Deepavali Bullshit

Samy: Demolished Temple Issue Resolved
The issue of the Hindu temple in Shah Alam that was demolished has been resolved, with the Selangor state government allocating a plot of land for the temple’s relocation.

MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu said the solution was reached after Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi directed him and Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Khir Toyo to sit down and resolve the matter.

“Earth work for the temple relocation has begun,” Samy Vellu told newsmen at the Putra World Trade Centre on Wednesday after the presidential address at the Umno general assembly.

Samy Vellu, who is Works Minister, stressed that the MIC had never looked at the temple demolition issue as a religious problem but more as an administrative weakness.

“Only I as the president had voiced my view on the matter to the Prime Minister and Mentri Besar,” he said.

“I have spoken to the Prime Minister and I have told him that we will all celebrate Deepavali,” he said, adding that he would also attend the national-level Deepavali celebrations in Brickfields on Nov 11. (The Star)

***** The way that Samy Vellu puts it, it's as if he's achieved something great. Note the typical arrogance with which he says
only I as the president had voiced my view on the matter to the Prime Minister and Mentri Besar.” But neither Samy Vellu nor the others have explicitly stated that it is the inherent right of every religious group to have their places of worship without official hindrance or discrimination.

The reality is that Toyol told him to f*** o** when Sam first approached him to postpone the temple demolition. After all what can he gain by delaying the destruction? By remaining adamant and demolishing the temple, Toyol gained a couple of pahala points and came across as an Umno warrior unbending in his day-and-night sworn duty to 'struggle' and fight for bangsa, agama dan negara. Who knows, this temple issue may literally be a heaven sent opportunity for the vertically challenged Selangor MB to ascend the Umno ladder.

After being told to piss off by the dwarf-sized Toyol and seeing the anger expressed by various sections of Malaysians, Sam tried some damage control by threatening to cancel Deepavali open houses being hosted by MIC leaders. (Isn't it true that in Malaysia the only ones who actually have open house celebrations, as fake as they may be, for the various festivals are the political parties?) That boycott threat backfired when the PM soundly rapped both of Sam's knuckles until he screamed, "aiyo aiyo no boycott lah master. I've been misquoted"

In all probability Sam would have then approached Pak Lah, crying and begging to be heard. He would have told him a scary story of how almost every non-Malay is upset and angry with continuous demolitions. With a considerable number of Indians openly saying that they will never vote for MIC and BN
again, Sam would have painted a doomsday scenario of embarrassing losses in the next elections, especially since the Chinese too have said the same thing several times in the past year.

Pak Lah, not willing to take a risk at a time when his own popularity is on the decline, would have leaned on the short statured Indonesian dentist in Selangor. Under such pressure from the PM, the rabidly chauvinistic toyol thinking of his own political future and not wishing to annoy the Umno president, would have approved unwanted TOL land in some hidden area for Samy Vellu's temple.

Now Samy Vellu is crowing success, at least until the next temple is bulldozed and pulverized somewhere else in this increasingly fanatical country we call home. And let not Sam forget that Toyol is an ambitious Indon. He will furtively sanction a few more demolitions of temples in the run up to the next elections. His target is the Malay voter. The others can go to hell.

Im a Hindu myself and its very disappointing to see the guy who claims to be the Indian leader of this country behaving like a slave to the system. He should be out there making his kind count, Look at the Chinese leaders who very smartly get things done for their people while giving the "younger" generation a go at the seat too! Wherever there is a settlement of a particular race, there is bound to be a place of worship. But if the settlement is illegal then why aren't the people who are in charge fixing that first? A dumb person would know that you don't use emotions when you resolve issues(incidentally a place of worship is the pinnacle of emotions to many), stupid approach!! Some people who are in power are like cancer cells..Things are not going to improve until this cancer is removed! Its a domino effect when things are done right, Happy Deepavali to all and god bless our home!

If Toyol had the interest of the people praying in this temple, he would have offered the land before the demolition. If he had done so, I am sure every person involved including the non-Malays would know this Dentist guy has a wee bit of sense. Toyol was a non-starter for the position of a MB had not the earlier MB been caught with his pants down in some adulterous matter,we would have not known Toyol. This ex MB was also known as a clean or reasonably clean guy. Therefore if a politician is presented to us as a clean guy please don’t let it raise your hope. Their cleanliness is a ploy to cheat and plunder as our present icon of a clean guy is doing. It is easier to deal with any person the opposite of a clean guy for the simple reason we know this chap is dirty and right from day one his actions are tagged and tracked. Not that we can stop his atrocities but the people are not taken for a ride. Then Mahathir brought in Toyol hoping he would be a good MB. Good my foot, permit me to say, he is categorised as the worst of the lot of MBs and definitely rates an “A” for being dirty..

Samy, one of our bloggers called him Mama, and Samy, Sam or Semi deserves this honorific title which normally is reserved for some unsavory conduct, but I suppose it was used in jest – I leave it to the readers to judge. He is great and no wonder he is gifted with oratory powers far beyond any other minister. His spin is superb – remember the toll, construction mayhem answers. He is the answer to many a prayer that he continues to lead the Indian community. Without him, I envisage not only temples will be bull dozed but even Indian houses and without this favorite leader where can the Indians look for direction. He must win in Sungei Siput and maybe it is high time Indians start organizing temple ceremonies for his success.
