Klang Municipal Council (MPK) Councillors. Apart From Being Corrupt And Incompetent They Are Samsengs As Well.
From Bernama this report.
Two journalists and a photographer from a Chinese daily lodged police reports against a Klang Municipal Council (MPK) councillor nominee for allegedly intimidating and hurling abusive remarks at them.
They claimed that the incident took place at the compound of the municipal council nominee's house here about 12.30pm Friday when they went there to get his comments on a report that his house was built without the approval of MPK.
One of the journalists, who declined to be named, said the man hurled abusive remarks at him and his colleagues as they were about to leave the premises.
"When we entered the place, he was no where to be seen, so we decided to leave. We were leaving the area when we heard someone shouting abusive remarks at us. The voice came from a container in front of the bungalow and we were surprised that it came from him (councillor).
"We told him who we are and explained the reason for our presence, but he refused to listen," he added.
The council nominee is among a few named by the state government with problems with MPK, including for building houses without approval.
Deputy Klang OCPD Supt Mohan Singh, who confirmed the report lodged by the journalists, said a report was also lodged by a contractor who claimed that the journalists had trespassed into the compound.
**** This is the type of specimen that the local councils throughout the country is infested with, in the name of councillors. The rogues that are being appointed to these posts are a disgrace not only to themselves and the councils but also to the pemimpin who put them there, in this case that silver-tongued bluffmaster Khir Toyo.
With calls for elected representatives in local councils becoming more strident, people like Khir Toyo still persist in stacking the councils with yes-men who so far have distinguished themselves in the acts of corruption, palace building, payment evasion and now samseng behaviour. Not surprising really if you keep in mind the cesspool from which Khir Toyo sources his councillors.
Banish Khir Toyo to some remote Indonesian outpost and replace him with someone who is less greedy, less corrupted and with a sense of fair play, if that's at all possible, and things may improve.
By the way have any of you heard about the documentary someone is planning to make on a fictitious Selangor Menteri Besar? It's called 'The Life And Times of Thir Coyote."
