Tun Dr Mahathir Suffers 'Mild Heart' Attack.

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was admitted to the Institut Jantung Negara this morning after suffering a mild heart attack. His condition was reported to be stable.

The news of the heart attack (myocardial infarction according to IJN sources) was confirmed by his son Mokhzani. When the word 'stable' is used it really does not give any reliable indication of the former PM's true condition. How this will affect Umno remains to be seen. The first consequence of this news is that his attendance in the upcoming Umno general assembly is doubtful. Despite the sorrowful and morose looks the present leadership will present over the next few days deep inside they must be heaving a sigh of relief for the breather and perhaps renewed hopes of an incident free assembly.
