Umno On Right Track, Says Veteran Aziz Tapa. Are They?
Umno is on the right track to bring progress to the Malays to be on par with the other races, said Umno veteran Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Tapa.
He added although the party had to endure continuous problems including serious ones that could have destroyed the party, Umno continued to live and its struggle remained on the right track.
"This is because Umno is the umbrella for the Malays and is led by charismatic leaders," he said in an interview with Bernama leading to the Umno general assembly next week.
"Issues or problems raised normally fade away. This is because Umno has wise leaders and members who remain loyal," he added.
Abdul Aziz added although the achievement of the Malays in certain areas was nothing to shout about, they had actually achieved much progress since Umno was established in 1946.
**** Either Aziz Tapa or the government is wrong. The general consensus of the non-Umno Malaysian is that Umno has been on track for far too long and in fact gone past several 'stations' further than their destination. While Aziz at least states that they are on track, Umno says that they have yet to even start the journey! The Bumi corporate equity fiasco is a case in point. According to the fairy tale that Umno would like us all to believe without argument, the poor Malay sod hasn't even taken one step after more than three and a half decades of extremely severe affirmative action! And to hell with Asli for telling a big lie.
Let not Aziz Tapa harp too much on the 'right track' topic, lest the 'wise leaders' decide that he too, like the Asli ingrates, has been turned by the diabolical 'haves' of this country, and as punishment revoke his Tan Sri award. Actually in a way I feel sorry for the government that they have to consistently maintain a schizophrenic act; tell the 'have-not' Malays that they are indeed fortunate to have achieved so much under Umno and at the same time look sadly at the 'wealthy' non-Malays and say "our bumi chaps are terlampau miskin bradder." Then again look at the Malays and say while we have given you so much please vote for us again and again because we haven't achieved much and are still 'struggling' to do our best for you and the maruah bangsa! To add spice to all this hogwash they wield keris, rename their flag, demonize the 'haves' and frighten the crap out of the genuinely poor and the religious.
Oh, the ways and the wiles of desperate politicians!
