New PJ Mayor To Be Named Soon.
The new Petaling Jaya mayor to replace Datuk Ahmad Termizi Puteh, 57, whose contract has ended, will be named in a few days time, said Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo.
Dr Mohamad Khir will also be announcing the new Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) President and the state's new financial officer. The present MPAJ president Datuk Ahmad Shafii Saidin is to be transferred to the Internal Security Ministry while state financial officer, Datuk Mansor Ramli, will be retiring soon.
Speaking to reporters after chairing the weekly state exco meeting here Wednesday, Dr Mohamad Khir said: "Just be patient... I will let you know in the next couple of days (the new mayor)."
On billboards, he denied claims by certain quarters that the state government favoured certain companies to advertise at pedestrian bridges.
On the contrary, he said, preference was given to the companies which paid for the construction of the bridges to put up their advertisements.
**** Why Termizi was shown the door I'm not too sure . Perhaps he didn't want to 'play ball' with Khir Toyo and the other state 'leaders'. It's definitely very unusual to not have your contract renewed so quickly unless either you are incompetent or 'uncooperative'. Take your pick. Let us also see which 'pliant' sucker that the MB selects. That should tell us a lot.
As for the last part where Khir Toyo denies any wrongdoing in the billboard scandal and says preference was given to those who 'paid for the construction' that is nothing but plain A-class BULLSHIT.
