Not Raising The Flag? Then The Merdeka Dedication Boards Are The Answer.
You want to express your feelings towards the country, but don’t know where to start?
If you are a regular Monorail commuter, you might want to jot them down on the Merdeka Dedication boards, placed strategically at five stations.
The Merdeka appreciation campaign, organised by The Malay Mail and KL Monorail, was jointly launched by the tabloid’s editor and chief operating officer, Mohd Zulkifli Abdul Jalil, and KL Monorail System Sdn Bhd managing director, Bakthiar Jamilee, at the Bukit Bintang station yesterday.
The jottings will be handed over to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi at a later date.
Mohd Zulkifli said The Malay Mail is set to be the platform for youth to express themselves and Merdeka is a good start. “It works well with our concept,” he said. Bakhtiar said the campaign will be held until the eve of Merdeka day.
The boards are placed at the Imbi, Bukit Bintang, Raja Chulan, KL Sentral and Hang Tuah stations as well as the NST Kiosk in front of Lot 10 shopping centre. More stations will be added, depending on the response. “We are extending our operating hours until 2.30am on the eve of Merdeka. Aug 31 also happens to be our third anniversary and the date itself lies close to our hearts,” said Bakthiar.
**** Potential users better take note that the boards are for you to write appreciative comments and NOT to make any derogatory statements.
