UPM Students Fracas - PAS Mouthpiece Harakah Condemns The Samsengs.

In a surprise move, Pas condemned the samseng2 of the UPM over the incident at the varsity which was captured on film and viewed by many.

It quoted the president of the Gagasan Mahasiswa Islam Semenanjung (Gamis), Mohd Haniff Baderun, who claimed that the troublemakers are from the pro-government group which is supported by the varsity administration. He named the rowdy group leaders as belonging to the Majlis Tertinggi Kolej Ke-12 (MTM).

Harakah also reported extensively the incident as described by the victims of the attack. It further added that such incidents also took place at UM and USM. At the USM, according to Harakah, the authorities had threatened students not to involve themselves in activities organised by SPF which has been deemed as anti-government and even warned that they'll get the PTPTN loans cancelled if they persisted in their involvement with SPF.

I'm really surprised that this one time PAS has clearly come down on the side of the victims without taking into account their religion or race. Perhaps we can expect more 'reasonable' gestures like this from them in the future.
