Indon Honour For 'Dr' Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

At last some good news for Pak Lah and belated recognition by 'big brother' Indonesia when he will be conferred an Honorary Doctorate in Humanities from Universitas Islam Negeri Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta during his two-day visit to Indonesia beginning Sunday.

The ceremony would be held on Monday at the university where Abdullah would deliver a speech entitled "Islam, Modernisation and Globalisation" and later open a seminar on Islam Hadhari at the university on the same day.

The conferment was in recognition of Abdullah's contribution towards the development and promotion of cultural and political cooperation between Malaysia and Indonesia particularly in strengthening the network of moderate Muslims in both countries.

After the ceremony Abdullah would call upon Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono before leaving for home later in the afternoon. Minister of Higher Education Datuk Mustapa Mohamad would accompany the Prime Minister.

Actually it is a good morale booster for the increasingly beleaguered Prime Minister and hopefully he shall return after the trip, refreshed and energised to taken on the burdens of his office with renewed vigour.
