Don't Abandon MIC Because Of Hindraf, Nazri Tells Indians
The Indian community in Malaysia who have been with the MIC, were today reminded not to abandon the party and its leaders just because the Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) has drawn public attention.
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz said leaving the MIC would put them at a loss because the party had long been working to bring progress to them.
"We have been with the MIC for 50 years and never that we imagine wanting to disassociate ourselves from it. In whatever matters relating to problems affecting the community, we will have it discussed and the discussion will not to take place without MIC leaders.
"Now is not the time for the Indian community to abandon the MIC but they should lend support and remain with the MIC," he told reporters.
Nazri said a solid support for the MIC was not only good for the future of the Indian community but also for the country's future as it ensures the preservation of harmony in the multiracial society.
"At stake is not only the future of the Indian community but also our future in Barisan Nasional and not other bodies, especially not Hindraf whose leaders we see have never done good deeds for the country or their own people," he said.
Nazri said the government would continue to uphold and enforce laws on everyone irrespective of religion, race and political belief.
Probably referring to the 31 people who have been charged with several offences committed during a rally in front of a Hindu temple in Batu Caves on Nov 25, he said: "It just happens the ones being prosecuted are Indians, the prosecutors are Malays and the judge is also a Malay -- which seems to show that it is the Malays versus the Indians, the government versus the Indians."
In actual fact, between 30 and 40 Malays had been detained under the Internal Security Act without trial and they included followers of the Jemaah Islamiah movement, he said. (Bernama)
***** It looks like Semi Value has a good ally in Nazri. Birds of a feather I suppose.

It is the MIC that let us down, specifically that Samy 'Eruthu' Vellu!
He is the one that should be hanged in the public. He let us down all the time.
He is betraying the Indians in this country, brown nosing every PM and accumulating personal wealth at the Indians expense. Bastard!
