Another Corrupt Pahang Datuk Bites The Dust

What is going on in Pahang? How come that the so-called police (Bukit Aman) vetting of potential Datuk candidates is so very poor? Is there any real background check done or is that too a sham like the Zakaria Mat Deros investigations?

While the NST has openly revealed his name, Vijayeswaran S. Vijayaratnam, the other scrotum clasper, TheStar has so for been too coy, preferring to describe him as 'a Malaysian Datuk in his 40s'. This chap is apparently an international fraud who has even conned a former Indonesian President!

It is indeed ironical that such a person who was reported to have had run-ins with the law much earlier and has been on Interpol's wanted list was seen fit to be bestowed the high award of Datuk by HRH the Sultan of Pahang! I've posted several times earlier on this strange and I must add, suspicious trend of selecting unsavory candidates by state governments especially Pahang and Malacca. The one thing all the crooks, conmen and thugs who have been honoured by these governments have in common, is a lot of questionably acquired money. Was a portion of this tainted wealth used to purchase the datukship?

This is a patently unfair world. There have been those who have dedicated the better part of three decades doing valuable voluntary work for charitable and needy organizations and at the end of the day have not even been acknowledged with the lowly PJK. Yet crooks and criminals of all varieties are welcomed, feted and honoured in state palaces! Quo Vadis Malaysia?

I have told my family many times over that should I ever be awarded a Datukship, I will without any regret turn it down. The reason, these titles have lost all its honour especially when they were given to corrupt officials, people connected to triads, etc. Above all, the palaces seem to be oblivious to all these happenings by not even taking back the titles.
Quite frankly, my "Encik" title seems to carry more credibility than any "datukship" I could think of.

As a matter of speech--"corruption" is no stranger to Malaysia; it is a famous resident. Our nation may well be suffering from full blown (not AIDS) but corruption.

To quote Ayn Rand, a Russian American novelist and philosopher (1905-1982)who once wrote: (quote):

"WHEN you see that trading is done, NOT by consent but by compulsion; WHEN you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing; WHEN you see that MONEY is flowing to those who deal, NOT in goods, but in Favors; WHEN you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don't protect you against them, BUT protect them against YOU;
WHEN you see corruption being AWARDED and HONESTY becoming a self-sacrifice, YOU MAY KNOW THAT YOUR SOCIETY IS DOOMED!!!!!

How familiar all these characteristics. Yes, we will be famous for the wrong reasons.

Billy, you are right!
In fact, anybody with a "Datuk" or "Tan Sri" title, I would be very very suspicious of their character and I'll never never trust or respect anyone of them, be they good or bad.

Malaysian citizen,
I am surprised to read how shallow your opinion is with regards to this issue. You, of all the people, trust everything you read in the newspapers? Ever wonder why other newspaper did not carry the story as headlines as well? Why only NST? Is the Star really being coy or the Star feels there's not enough substance to the story?
