Direct Negotiations 'Soon' Between Anwar and Pak Lah, Says Tian Chua. Is This True?

From Reuters
Malaysia's opposition said on Tuesday it has opened talks with the government over the current political impasse but added it was still early to talk about a power transfer.

"We managed to break through in some discusssions through a third party and soon a direct negotiation will happen between Abdullah and Anwar," said Tian Chua, information chief of Anwar Ibrahim's Parti Keadilan Rakyat, said.

One of Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi's political secretaries said there were no such talks as far as he was aware.
***** How much credence can we give to this claim by Tian Chua? Could the PM already be in secret 'third party' wheeling and dealing with the Pakatan leadership?

One question that should be asked is whether it is possible for Pak Lah to unilaterally go into negotiations with the opposition
and get the best deal for himself? As PM does he legally require the formal approval of his party before he discusses politics with Anwar?

Among the formidable powers that the PM enjoys is the constitutional right to approach His Majesty and request the dissolution of Parliament and thus pave the way for the next general elections. If he does that without consultation, can the rest of Umno do anything about it? This is a potent weapon which he wields and can use if he feels that too many Umno leaders are getting out of line. After all which Umno pemimpin wants to face the electorate tomorrow? Any legal experts out there who can enlighten us?

Interesting development indeed. There might be some truth in it. After all, the PM position is no longer tenable for Abdullah and he will leave with a bad legacy on his own performance and with his tail tugged between his legs, thrown out by his own people no less. Some sort of rescue plan to restore his reputation and protect the family crown jewels is needed and a deal with Anwar is probably the answer. I may be wrong.

Pull the plug la dude...

Its getting ridiculous already..

Sunday, one Mujahid Rawa says to large audience that a letter was send to YDP Agong, next day Wan Azizah says, not yet, going to be send...

At this rate, the credibility of PR is down the drain, just like BN

I personally think that we should stop giving any value to statement regarding takeover..

The meeting is just to renew goodwill. If TDM could sign over the power to AAB, AAB can sign over his power to Anwar. They need only to discuss detail regarding the swearing in ceremony. The rest would follow suit.

YB Tian Chua, you are my wakil rakyat. Please spend more time to look and study on our (Rakyat) welfare and problem which you have promised during PRU 12 rather than creating the 3C (convince, confuse and con). Dont let us call you YB 3C.

An element of secrecy in sensitive matters will not mean PKR is not doing anything. If you keep blabbing about what is truly going on, you are giving an opportunity to the enemy to plan their next evil step. Move fast and catch them with their pants down. There are far too many evil spirits drifting along Malaysia's corridor of Power at the moment so please do more and talk less. Let us see their faces when DSAI reclaims the government back for the rakyat.

to the people of pakatan, if you guys are reading this post, please note the general feeling of disbelief now. more and more of us are getting a bit disillusioned by the day by all the "talk". seriously, we gave you fellas all the support needed to get you this far...but if things are just gonna be like this, i'm afraid you have lost all the goodwill generated. if you cannot do it, just admit it and maybe we may reconsider giving you our support in the next GE but if you continue like this, then you are no better than the current regime. so anyway, no hard feelings. no offense too..just plain practicality from us here..

dont waste any more time.Pak Lah will never ever have the intention to meet these guys.

I think these PKR YBs doesnt know what is the constitutonal condition to form a government. Where on the earth wheather semi democration or full democration elected by Rakyat government with more than 60% majority to give way to minotity opposition. We know UMNO is trying to solve their leadership crisis, but doesnt mean the PR can easily manuver to form a government.YB Tian Chua, advise your BOSS,"SABAR DULU" prove that PK states can be managed better than BN than we will decide next PRU 13.Dont get excited with your BOSS, he was UMNO member and was given a change to be Minister and DPM but " habuk pun tak ada". He can Bluffed and Cheated Rakyat Malaysia but not Bukit Mertajam his old friends.

TC, you cakap you jumpa BN MPs di Taiwan tapi tak jumpa- satu pembohongan.

Left this comment on Aisehmans's Blog:

Dude, seems to me that Malays have an issue with Tian Chua judging from comments left around the Malaysian political blogosphere. The guy has proven his mettle and deserves respect, that’s in spite of him being a politician now ;)

People seem to forget that BR is brand new and besides DSAI and DAP/PAS big boys the rest of the gang are fledgling politicians and deserve some leeway. Compared to the plundering BN politicos they more than deserve a chance. Let them have that chance.
