Zaid Ibrahim To Resign. Keeping An Open Mind On Leaving Umno And Joining PKR
De facto Law Minister Senator Datuk Zaid Ibrahim at a press conference this morning said that he has not made a decision to leave Umno and join PKR, adding that he will keep an open mind.
He had yesterday submitted his resignation letter to the Prime Minister. In his letter, Zaid enumerated his frustrations in achieving the reforms he had been tasked with doing; the straw that broke the his back was the arrest of three civilians under the Internal Security Act on Friday.
He was called to a meeting at Seri Perdana with Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi from 3pm to 5pm yesterday. At the meeting, the Prime Minister rejected his letter and told him to take two weeks’ leave instead.
No doubt this is just the beginning of a larger exodus to come. Umno's house of cards is ready to collapse and not many will mourn its demise.

I must admit that Zaid Ibrahim is just about the ONLY UMNO politician that I actually have respect for.
Maybe soon ex-UMNO, but that wouldn't surprise me one single bit.
He's adamant on resigning. A good sign. Maybe he'll jump over to PR. A rare breed indeed....

don't forget that this same guy was convicted of money politics back in 2006...so, not entirely sure about honesty though. he has been ignored in the ministry and judicial, so, it's come as no lost that he resigned...
many people perceived Zaid as hero.but not many people know that he loses his seat as Kota Bharu UMNO chief and also was found guilty on the charge of money politics.
perhaps he's using ISA as an excuse to quit respectfully and be regarded as hero to all.
Zaid is just nobody in UMNO.He loses his seat and was punished for money politics.many UMNO people dislike this fella.
so,it doesn't matter if he is to resign.but he have to proof himself if Datuk Seri Abdullah willing to give him another chance to stay in the cabinet and remain as UMNO member.
If he was accused money politics, everyone knows that money politics is what makes AMNO. So it holds no water. Good that he has repented and is seeking a new direction. Welcome my dear Zaid. And let's not forget that the man is very charitable and he has been helping money orphans and handicapped people across the nation so much so that he was included in Asia's top five charitable people.

He would be wise to leave UMNOTANIC which is sinking really fast. Any fool can see the desperation and use of ISA to intimidate the people. Thanks to Zaid who has open the way and many others should follow him and jump ship quickily. PR like Noah's Ark still have place for the sane.

Entah2 memang nak melompat ke PR. Semua ni alasan je.
UMNO = $$$ politics so UMNO man only gets caught if party wanna destroy him. Otherwise, "we are family".
