Teresa Kok Released From ISA Detention

In further proof of the government's legally untenable action of using the Internal Security Act (ISA), Seputeh MP Teresa Kok was released, six days after her detention, at 1pm today.

This good news was announced by her lawyer Sankaran Nair.

Over the past few days the authorities had come under severe criticism from various quarters including Umno for misusing the Act. Even that biggest abuser of the ISA, former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, had condemned the use of the Internal Security Act against Raja Petra, who is the editor of controversial online news portal Malaysia Today, and Kok, a Selangor executive councillor and Seputeh MP.

Following the embarrassing about-turn and release of the Sin Chew reporter Tan Hoon Cheng after 18 hours of detention, things have been basically going downhill for the kerajaan.

But this travesty of justice by the authorities should not go unpunished. For a start, Home Minister Syed Hamid must resign if he still has any political conviction and honour left in him. Next Khir Toyol who started the shit stirring must be pulled up and charged in court. Even a swine like him does not deserve to be arrested under the ISA. He's not a terrorist but a politically slimy bastard of the first order who will lie and cheat to any extent to get his way.

And as for that religio-racist Umno mouthpiece Utusan Malaysia, nothing can or will happen to them, not even a rap on the wrist. We'll have to wait for Anwar to come to power before taking meaningful action against the bigots there.

The politicians know about the sensitivity of ISA...they know...I believe they want to create pressure to Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to step downn as Prime Minister. Do you agree?

Anonymous,
The bloody police should be made to pay heavily for such unjustified action. This just goes to show the high handed action without proper investigation. The person who clearly utter racist remarks was not even called up but the reporter is taken to jail. The Police should come clean and tell the public who authorised the arrest and not be viewed as a scapegoat of the useless HM. Same goes for Teresa Kok, the asshole Khir Toyol should be the one in jail right now, it is very cery clear ISA is not applicable to fcuking UMNO.

I'm glad Teresa was released. But statement made by her during press conference (barely 2 hours after release!) shows her true colors...believe me this lady is only pretending...

Whatever amount of suggestion, proposal, argument, debate, media expose going on on the ISA now, is definitely NOT at same level as during when Tan and Kok was inside.(..Kok even got to talk about the food)
The fact is showing up that; level of commitment to help brother or sister Malaysian differs according to the color of your Malaysian skin and if you speak Mandarin or not. (Dont mean to be Racial)

While on this ISA subject,I mean to provoke some deeper thinking-hopefully).
It sort of began when those Hindraf guys got it, there was a build-up of protest.*URGENCY was NOT there.
Then when Kok,Tan and RPK got took in too..ANY petition was a BIG yes.**URGENCY was BIG TIME HOOHAA!!.

After that, when Kok and Tan gets out, petition comes under debates, bickering begins-some tries to sound like lawyers, some say it’s not enough.***URGENCY went OUT the door.

See the list and hope you smell it.
Now go figure out.

I will never forgive Teresa for insulting my parents. My parents feed me with 'dog food' (according to Teresa's classification)back in the 1970s. This is the very same person who promise her voters 'everything under the sun'. Baru 6 bulan jadi Exco sudah besar kepala...
