Malaysian Pilot Caught And Fined For Child Porn In Adelaide
A Malaysia Airlines pilot who was caught importing child pornography to Australia yesterday has faced court.When Ahmad Said, 25, arrived at Adelaide Airport yesterday he said he did not have anything to declare.
But customs officers searched his laptop and found child sex videos.
A handcuffed Said has faced court.
Magistrate Simon Smart told him the videos were cruel and violent and it was a disgrace that the married father of two had brought the material to Australia.
The magistrate said people like Said encouraged the market for child pornography.
Said, whose wife is expecting their third child, was fined $6,000.
He left court with a jumper over his head because of television camera crews. (ABC Online, Australia)
***** This is the kind of 'publicity' that we don't need. I wonder what compels a person especially one who has young kids himself to indulge in child porno videos? Is the urge for making easy money that great? I'm sure the repercussions on his return will be swift and he can kiss his job at MAS goodbye. No place for leniency in an 'Islamic' nation like ours is there?

I heard of the story first hand and it was teen porn and since it was under the legal age of 18 it was considered as child porn. He was wrong in doing it but I must say that most of our youths indulge themselves in the occasional porn. It was a mistake on his behalf to keep porn but it was just for personal use and not for sale or commercial use. My sympathy goes to him as he goes through this difficult time.

Do you know that as fact or are you speculating base on the article? I spoke to the operating crew on that flight and it was definitely not kiddy porn. Even the government didn't see it as a major crime as he was slapped with a fine and is being released for duty the next day. MAS wasn't the only airline that had their crew remanded, as they also caught pilots of other major airlines too on that day.
Remember that despot Mahathir's aim to have "Towering Malays?" This is one of them.

You are right. My apologies for bringing in Race & Colour into my comments. It's exactly what we are fighting the UMNOPutras for.
However, if this guy was really indulging in Child Porn (instead of just saying it was not, MAS should have an inquiry & check for sure) then he should be thrown in the "slammer". If it was not Child Porn then his name should be cleared. However, knowing our authorities, we can never be sure what they will do or hwat they will hide!
As a matter of fact this Ahmad Said may have committed the offence or he may has been framed up or he may tried to trade the video for extra money in Australia. Whatever the incidence, only God knows truth well.
It doesn't matter of Ahmad Said being a pilot at the age of 25, as long he has a Lisence to fly the Mas carrier, its fine and OK.
However, there is nothing concern about being a Muthusamy or an Ah Chong in this context of story. Anyony guilty have to face the concequances in Australia.
Certainly the Australian Court must have some concrete Evidence to charge Ahmad Said, likewise the charging of a car battery.
mas pilots start flying at the age of 18 and can become captains at the age of 25 which is the minimum.Mas has a good track record on safety so whats the big bloody fuss??Mas had a 777 capt at the age of 28 and some of our captains on the 747 now were 747 captains at the age of 32..About pornography,so many many many people keep em in their laptop.Check everyone man.

SM, as 8747 has already clarified the ages for MAS pilots, I would also like to clarify that race does not count as a promotion criteria for pilots. There are all kinds of 24 year-olds flying in MAS at the moment, and being that young has nothing to do with race. There is also no 'one race has more than the other race' criteria.

My reaction at the top of this comment page was one of disgust principally because (as the title of the headline says) of child porn. As far as I know, in most parts of the world, it is illegal to distribute this genre of film making.
Secondly, my comment (very clearly) asks about the age of pilots flying the large planes. It has been clarified that it is possible that someone as young as 25 can be piloting these large planes. I am not a pilot nor do I have any connection with anyone in MAS, so it is information that was of interest to me. So my thanks for the people who are in the know for providing the clarification. My concern really was that at age 25, it seems a bit young.
Thirdly, nowhere did I make any insinuation regarding the ethnic background of anyone. So please, do not make any accusations at me. I believe the person who did so has apologised for that unnecessary comment.

Its very usual for a 25 year old pilot. Their training starts right after high school, i.e. after 17. HEnce he woudl have approx 8 years experience.
The Australian government just decided to be extremely strict at current date and he is a unfortunate victim. He's already facing harsh circumstances, please do not add salt and pepper nor create unnecessary rubbish / speculation than what it already is.
Just because u could not do it by 25 year old does not mean that he didnt do it based on his own efforts.
