Abdullah's Leadership Has Plans For Nation's Future, Says Zam

The people should continue their support to the government to empower Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to implement long-term development plans, which have been drawn up, for the people's well-being.

Information Minister Datuk Seri Zainuddin Maidin said that as the head of government, the Prime Minister has long-term plans for the people's socio-economic development.

He said it was not fair for anyone to evaluate Abdullah's performance and deliverance within a five-year period.

"In a matter of just one term (as prime minister), we cannot assess (his real performance). We must give a chance to the Prime Minister to lead the nation," he told reporters after dining with the Chinese community in Merbok here last night.

Zainuddin, who is also Merbok member of parliament, said that in five years Abdullah had proven his long-term planning through the introduction of regional development corridors -- Northern Corridor Economic Region (NCER), Eastern Corridor Economic Region (ECER), Iskandar Development Region (IDR) and Sabah Development Corridor (SDC).

The minister said the people had confidence in Abdullah's leadership to continue steering the nation to greater heights.

Zainuddin said the people of Kelantan would also enjoy more vigorous development if they voted out the PAS-led state government in favour of the Barisan Nasional (BN) in this general election.

He said the Abdullah-helmed government had improved the public delivery system to the people and had simplified procedures and made transactions easier with government departments and agencies.

The government had also taken measures to contain price hikes of essential goods and had preserved peace and harmony among the various races and had taken crime-prevention measures to address rising crime cases, he said.

The national economy had also recorded encouraging growth to stimulate the nation's future progress, he said.

"Hence, the people should continue to give their solid support to Abdullah's leadership," he added. (Bernama)

***** There is of course some truth to what Zam says, although many may disagree with his take on containing price hikes, preserving inter-ethnic harmony and crime-prevention measures. The cases of body snatching, syariah court intrusion into the civil domain, repeatedly snubbing initiatives at inter-faith dialogue, mishandling of the Hindraf and Bersih rallies, lack of will to implement the IPCMC and rumours of impending huge price hikes are some of the issues that Pak Lah will be hard put to answer satisfactorily.

Also one must wonder if there will be a place for Zam in a Najib-led cabinet. Therefore maintaining the status quo could be advantageous for the info czar.

In the last GE, AAB made a lot of promises which he has not fulfilled.
In fact the situation (cronysism, corruption, transperancey, body-snatching, islamic extermeism, etc, etc) has become worse.
Now we are asked to give them more time? Worse still, we have to listen to a crook like this asking us to give them more time & worse still, trust them?
How stupid do they think we are.

Why do Politicians take the Rakyat to be fools? Zam thinks that people would bother to listen to him or abide by his wishes.

The Rakyat is fed up with the whole crowd and it is time that they all go and let this Nation of the people, by the people and for the people - survive by any other means that it can. Nothing can be worse than having this crowd again for another 5 years and their little Napoleons in the Civil service endeavouring to install Arabism on one and all.

To be honest, everytime they come out with new plans, promises, goodies especially during and around GE. I wonder how many of them have been honored? Perhaps, what Zam meant was PM's plan is to have no plan for the plans he plans and the plans for the the future is to be planned and the plans will be planned later and later there will be no plans and there will not need any plans after the GE and they will start cooking plans when another GE is approaching and that's what they are planning to do now and they'll soon be only plans but no action. That's what he meant by plans for future, cos it's for future only not now, so they don't have any plan now as their plans in the past were never planned.
