More Objections To e-Kesihatan Scam

The Federation of Malaysian School Bus Associations (PPBSM) is against the introduction of the e-Kesihatan scheme by the Road Transport Department (JPJ) which requires drivers of commercial vehicles to undergo routine health screening from October 1.

Its chairman, Chee Ah Tey, said the scheme would burden the drivers as they would have to pay the registration cost of RM80 at the post office and go to any panel clinic approved by JPJ for the test.

"The charge is too costly compared with only RM15 to RM20 if we are to go to clinics of our choice," he told reporters today.

He said the association was also not happy with the requirement that the health checks be conducted only at clinics approved by the JPJ.

Under the e-Kesihatan scheme, drivers of commercial vehicles will be tested for drugs under a medical check-up scheme when they apply for and renew their licence. They will also be checked for other problems like alcoholism and cardiovascular and mental illness.

In another development, Chee expressed regret over the refusal of Kurnia Insurans to renew the insurance coverage for school buses more than 10 years old.

He said the Transport Ministry should look into the matter as the move would affect the operators of about 16,000 school buses in the country. (Bernama)

***** This is what can be expected to happen if the authorities, without giving a thought to the welfare of poor citizens, start implementing money-making schemes which have the sole intention of enriching a few well-connected bastards. Either scrap the e-Kesihatan con or reduce the charges to a more reasonable and tolerable level.

Also it's time to clean up the moribund Transport Ministry. Too many entrenched and corrupt interests in the form of ministry officials have sunk deep roots there and are mainly responsible for the present sorry state of affairs. Let's start with the Transport Minister and his senior officers first.

after the RM4.6 billion PKA fiasco, he is back again with approval for another parasitic project. To whom it benefits, MR CHAN KONG CHOY. Wished you continue your "medical check-up" overseas indefinitely.
As for the school bus drivers/owners, the best bet is to go for a strike. And for the doctors, be united and the Association must barred any doctors from joining this parasitic scheme to maintain your decorum and integrity. Anything else is to be part of this scam.
