What The Umno General Assembly Did Not Want To Discuss.

They came in droves, exchanged salaams and pleasantries, engaged in animated conversation outside the halls of the PWTC while discussing the tragedy that had befallen Abdul Razak Baginda, shared a few rumours while ogling at the pretty lasses of the Umno Puteri and committed 'mental adultery' while preparing themselves for the battle royale ahead. Then they went in, this select and exclusive group of Umno members, the chosen delegates for the various meetings.

As with all meetings it had its agenda. And so did the delegates. However neither addressed the most important issue that haunts the land; massive corruption by the Umnoputras. Every other topic was at least mentioned, some with vehemence and others in passing. But no noise was made about the neoplunderers of the country by these 'defenders of the race and religion.'

Where was the heated discussion on that crooked councillor-cum-state assemblyman Zakaria Md Deros who dared to build a palace on a salary that can't even buy him a second wife? Where was the revulsion to the corrupt acts of Khir Toyo, the rapist of virgin forests and hills? Why close an eye to the capers of that maverick MP from Jasin? Or why totally ignore the fact that a vast majority of the politicians in the Umno fold are far from clean? Do you know why? Because any wise guy bringing it up at the assembly can kiss goodbye to his political future and the chance of amassing a fortune. It's not as if they are unaware of the culpability of the aforementioned crooks. But in a curiously roundabout way they are 'role models' you see, and each of these delegates aspires to be exactly like them.

Do you even for a minute think, that apart from a handful of genuinely honest men and women attending, any of those boisterous characters who strutted like peacocks and spoke like cretins, care for anyone other than themselves and their families? They probably care two hoots for even those from their own kampung or cawangan.

Therefore if you can't speak the truth about your fellow Umno bradder, then do the next best thing. You rubbish the non-Malays. That always works and gains you a few extra points for the next cawangan elections. So those of them who stoked the communal fire and raised the spectre of a bloodbath, were they not genuine in their anger? Of course they were but for the wrong reasons. All the dalil they gave out there at the assembly was just camouflage. Basically these Umnoputras are envious of and have a great dislike for the Chinese and utter contempt for the Indians. As far as the East Malaysians are concerned, the delegates merely consider them a nuisance and couldn't care less whether they existed or not. That is the reality as I see it although there may not be universal agreement to that argument.

But alas, yaaawwnn, this is going to be a tediously annual affair and while nothing worthwhile is going to come out of it, nothing anyone does can stop it either. So please just get used to it.

Remember that Sabah have the 2nd highest number of delegates (after Johor) and what does the state get?
One of the poorest state having the highest number of illegal immigrants and the highest number of forged identification documents.

anon,

as u hv noticed, most UMNO members r aliens in Sabah, so, if the big guns want to hv votes from them, it's very easy, all they need is give them some $$, they will be very happy to reciprocate, afterall, this land is much much better than their motherland. So u see, the real anak negeri don't get any benefits from the govmen. And that's why, the govmen doesn't care if Sabah is the poorest, the govmen just doesn't giv a damn to to the legitimate citizens, ....
