A Muslim Leader's Dilemma.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh Saturday expressed regret with certain quarters who opposed the use of multimedia technology in Friday sermons. The state government, he said, had introduced multimedia technology for Friday sermons in several mosques to ensure better understanding of their contents by the congregation.
"It is regrettable that some quarters' minds are so closed that they reject the good attempts of the state government to introduce science and technology in Islam. "This is also a reason why Muslims remain backward and are unable to progress like other races," he said when speaking at the presentation of special Hari Raya aid to 1,700 people, comprising low income earners in the Jerteh state constituency.
**** How does one overcome such reluctance to adopt and adapt? If anyone has some good suggestions to give the Menteri Besar please do so.
While on the subject it was disheartening to learn that there are some people with such closed minds even in the highest echelons of the corporate world. A certain CEO is said to have sent out an advice cum directive to his employees to not wish their Hindu friends Happy Deepavali since that would be against Islam and therefore will lead to syirik! (Blasphemy.) How does one deal with this kind of mindset?
Another point to note especially during this holy month of Ramadhan is the mockery that takeaway food is making of the whole act of fasting. Pious looking ladies wearing tudung and Haji type men complete with skullcaps or songkok are seen in large numbers at Indian restaurants before noon, surreptitiously taking away delicious hot food in plastic bags. They come in quietly, order silently, payment made in a few seconds, a furtive glance to see if they've been noticed and they're off in a jiffy into the safety of their cars or vans. Try telling these people it is blasphemous to wish Happy Deepavali.

If the CEO of company is a public listed company, make it be known to the public so those not agreeable to his principal should not invest in these companies. For those men and ladies buying food, we should give them the benefit of doubt, may be they had medical problem making fasting not applicable.
This acquirement is already what everybody desperately need. It offers so much more notes than an cyclopaedia! - contact lenses
