Do You Believe This Denial?
Umno deputy president Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on Thursday denied that there was an attempt by the party to block its former president, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, from becoming a delegate to the Umno general assembly in November.
"There is no attempt by Umno to block him," he told reporters. Najib was asked to comment on Dr Mahathir's recent allegation on the matter.
Dr Mahathir's candidacy as a delegate will be decided at the Kubang Pasu Umno annual meeting this Saturday.
**** I for one find it extremely difficult to swallow that story. This is my truthful admission. It is not very nice to bluntly disagree, contradict or cast doubts on the DPM's clarification, noting how sincere he is in his explanations, but all the evidence I can see sadly points directly opposite to what he has said.
Credence must be given to Dr Mahathir's allegations. He is not simply going to make up far-fetched stories just to make the leadership look bad. That's not his style. So I do believe him when he complains of attempts to shut him out of Umno.
Add to that the reports of his speeches in various places around the country being 'sabotaged' and it becomes increasingly clear that there is indeed a plot/plan hatched by Umno bosses to prevent Mahathir from being elected as a delegate. Indeed I have posted an article earlier of one such sabotage attempt that was successful. That post here - What A Coincidence, Negeri Sembilan MB!
In anycase it is upto you, whatever your answer may be to my question, do you believe Najib's denial?

of course nobody believes Najib
he has cried wolf more times than the no of miniature m'sian flags this year's merdeka mourning
This is not a denial but giving wrong information. Many stories have reported that Mahathir is being fixed up to lose. So why tell a different cerita to the public. Nobody will believe him.
tonixe, samsung and perlisan, obviously the three of you are convinced that our DPM is not being very truthful. But I've got to hand it to Najib. When he says things like this on TV, he sounds soooo sincere!
