D'Channels - DiGi's Updated Mobile TV Service.

DiGi Telecommunication Sdn Bhd aims to attract more subscribers and increase mobile data revenue with D'Channels, its updated mobile TV service offering seven live video streaming contents, said chief marketing officer, Chee Pok Jin.

For the second quarter of 2006, DiGi subscribers stood at 5.4 million, of which 92 percent were prepaid users. DiGi's mobile data revenue for the same period was RM147 million of the company's RM865 million mobile revenue.

At a press conference at the launch of D'Channels, here Tuesday , Chee said customers with GPRS and EDGE services, would be able to view the programmes in Bahasa Malaysia, English and Mandarin from DiGi Sport, DiGi News, DiGi Toons, DiGi Music, DiGi SCTV, DiGi JIAYU, and DiGi Fashion TV.

Subscribers have the flexibility to choose from one, three, five or all seven channels from as low as RM6.00 per channel to RM14.90 for a full package of seven channels, with data charges included for all seven channels. These services are available from Sept 15 onwards.

DiGi currently has 100 content developers of which 50 percent are local.
