Pussycat Dolls minus the pussy please, says Rais Yatim.

Zainuddin Maidin wants to control the internet. The government wants us to stop talking about 'sensitive' subjects. Now Culture, Arts and Heritage Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim wants us to refrain from watching scantily clad performers in concerts! Why is he so worried? Does he not trust the average Malaysian? Are we so dumb that on seeing them we are going to go straight out of the hall and proceed to rape a couple of female passersby?

He wants the relevant agencies to stop the concerts "once the performers show too much skin. The agencies involved should send their officers to monitor the concerts. I am sad that such performances are being shown to the public."

He said this when shown pictures of scantily-dressed members of the all-girl ensemble, Pussycat Dolls, at the group’s PCD World Tour 2006 last Wednesday night.

So it is OK for the officers who 'monitor' the performances to watch, because they are government servants and it is expected that they will not end up becoming depraved and corrupted like the rest of the low IQ population.

When is the government and the ministers that form the administration going to come out of the time warp they have placed themselves in? You simply cannot go on censoring, controlling, monitoring, banning and excising everything that you people are uneasy with. The world shouldn't work that way. If this is a true democracy then we must have the choice to decide. The initiative to accept or reject should come from the people and not the government.

Actually I'm quite fed up with the same exhortation on my part and the continued moralistic preaching by the 'leaders' of our great 'democratic' nation.
