Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) - MURDERERS.

The Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) today issued a stop work order on Daya Tenaga Muda Sdn Bhd, the developer of Taman Zoo View and Ukay Bestari located above Kampung Pasir, Hulu Klang, where a landslide occurred on Wednesday.

MPAJ's President Datuk Ahmad Safii Saidin said the council also established a technical committee to identify the cause of the 4.45 pm incident with two persons confirmed dead so far and two more missing.

"MPAJ found that the developer failed to complete the retaining wall in time last year, and was only completed last week," he said. (Bernama)

**** Ahmad Safii Saidin, you and your Council have BLOOD on your hands. Through your incompetence or carelessness or greed or any combination of these you have become accessory to the murder of innocent members of the public. Did you sleep well last night Ahmad Safii? Did the death of these persons torment you? Or were you only worried about your future in the council? Worried that all the wrongdoings of your cursed MPAJ may finally be revealed and justice may finally take its majestic course?

Your commitment shows, when only after the mentri besar 'fumed' publicly did it occur to you and the other co-accused to issue a stop work order. This order should have been given last year when in your own words "the developer failed to complete the retaining wall in time last year." But the MPAJ was probably too 'busy' planning how to cover your tracks and your rears than worry about a trivial thing like a stop work order. Such orders must be bad words in your vocabulary where when things come to a head there are 'avenues' to avoid these pinprick orders. Unfortunately this time around hopefully you, your MPAJ and the developer have run out of avenues of extricating yourselves from this crime.

Obviously the MPAJ has not learnt any lessons at all from the other tragedies that befell this place previously. It shows a remarkable indifference to any and all complaints and objections, as if it is a law unto itself. I still remember, years ago when Datuk Seri Dr. Rais Yatim, a resident of that area, had publicly complained about the MPAJ. Alas even his voice could not move them. What more of the mere ordinary taxpayer?

This is one good opportunity for the mentri besar if he genuinely feels for what has happened, to sack the senior officials of the MPAJ including the president and lay down some ground rules for real accountability on the part of the council. However I must hasten to add that I personally have no confidence in Khir Toyo. He has done nothing in the past to invoke trust or faith in him. At least I hope his conscience pricks him enough this time to do something worthwhile now at least.

As for those who are culpable and directly or indirectly responsible for the murder of these unsuspecting and helpless people - may you rot in hell.
