Subpoena Not Aimed At Derailing Anwar's By-election Plan, Says Syed Hamid. Do You Believe Him?

The subpoenaing of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to be present in court Thursday is not aimed at derailing the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) advisor's plan to contest the Permatang Pauh by-election on Aug 26, said Home Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar.

He said claims to the contrary by Anwar were not true and urged him not to politicise the issue.

He said the police were only following the due process of the law in ordering him to attend court tomorrow following their completing investigations into a sodomy complaint lodged against him by his former aide Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan.

"He (Anwar) has nothing to fear if he is innocent and he certainly will be able to get top lawyers to defend him," he told reporters after attending a religious function at the Police College in Cheras here Wednesday.

He said that the case had reached the court stage and all quarters must respect this.

He added that police would ensure security at the Sessions Court in Jalan Duta and its proximity when the case comes up for hearing Thursday. (Bernama)

***** Syed Hamid's credibility has hit rock bottom and I doubt there will be many takers for his story.

By the way at the Jalan Duta Sessions Court, DSAI pleaded not guilty to the sodomy charge and has been released on a personal bond of RM20,000 without surety. Hearing has been set for mention on September 10th 2008 pending transfer to the High Court.

If we can get 20,000 people to give RM1 each...i think it'll help ease the burden A LITTLE.

Don't worry anucia. He is not that poor. His family is rich. rm20,000 means nothing for them.

The turnout was unexpected. I thought the case would not allow for bail. So kind yet fair play by the government. They must have enough evidences to put charges against DSAI later on.

Let's face it...the BN is going to get DSAI no matter waht the evidence shows.
They acn't afford to let him to be free...he may very well become the next PM & then what's goingto happen to the likes of Nijib, Rosmah, KJ & Pak Lah?!

Tak perlu bagi duit tu semua. Duit dia bersepah2, sana sini orang dia bayar. Buat kempen semua tu ingat duit siapa. Dari mana datang duit tu tak tahu lah. Anwar memang suka mempolitikkan segala2nya. Alih2 sekarang dia dilepaskan dengan ikat jamin. Layanan istimewa untuk Anwar..

i don't think this is necessary lah. A waste of Malaysians money only.
Some more wants to raise RM20,000 for him?!
As if he has no money to pay for it. Better we give it to the rumah anak yatim or something like it.

You got to be kidding me..Anwar is a high profile man with money and popularity to match, I don't think it's necessary for us to do so.
....and I don't get it, who is he to deserve such special treatment from us?

Anonymous,
Whatever comes out of Syed Hamid, stinks to high heaven. If he keeps his bloody mouth shut the air would smell much better. As the saying goes'keep your mouth shut and pretend to be smart...open it and it confirms you are total dumb"
