Anwar Ibrahim Fears Government Plan To Sabotage By-Election

Malaysian opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim said on Sunday that he feared the government may resort to "massive funding and bribery" to sabotage his chances of winning a parliamentary election.

Anwar, who is battling allegations that he raped a former male aide, plans to stand for election from a constituency in northern Penang state which his wife has vacated.

"If... Barisan Nasional decide(s) to get rough with massive funding and bribery then we will have to be really prepared," Anwar told reporters referring to the ruling coalition.

"We will have to see how many 100 million (ringgit) will be brought there (to the constituency). We are not taking it for granted," he said.

Anwar's wife Wan Azizah resigned last week to make way for him to contest and regulations state that a by-election must be held within the next 60 days.

The Election Commission will meet on Wednesday to decide on the election date.

Fear is an UNDER-statement. Remember, memories are still fresh in the 2008 general election. Tents were set up near a bus terminal (KL) and money was paid to voters going back to Trengganu and even photos were taken. My friend's secretaries also collected RM300 from a political headquarters to go back to Trengganu to vote. It's not fear it's a fact.

This fella has really got everything covered! If he loses, it's because BN played dirty! If he's found guilty of sodomy, it's because BN fabricated evidence! Everything that goes wrong or him is always someone elses fault, never his own! I'd sooner trust a poisonous snake than Anwar!

Every Malaysian knows that BN will use the whole machinery to crush the opposition this time round. Financial resources, man power and government instruments are all on BN's side. Permatang Pauh voters must not be cowed by brute force or bowed to money lure. Make a wise decision for the sake of the country's future. All Malaysians' fate is in your hand.

Biasalah, Anwar Ibrahim kan..Bab pusing2 cakap buat fitnah memang nombor satu. Dia memang terkenal dengan pandai mengubah cerita negatif terhadap dia jadi positif. Kalau menang dia cakap laa rakyat memang menyokong dia untuk perubahan. Kalau kalah cakap laa ada orang main kotor. Memang dah perangai Anwar macam tu, nak buat macam mana. Macam2 mana pun dia menang jugak, dah muak tengok perangai dia ni.

Bila BN nak turun bertanding cakap mereka sabotage pilihan raya tu. Kalau tak turun bertanding cakap pula BN takut, tak nak pertahankan maruah. Mana-man pun korang dok tau menyalahkan BN sahaja.
Ingat Anwar tu bagus sangat ke?
Kalau betul nak perubahan jangan lah sampai nak memilih sesuatu yang memang dah nampak kepincangannya.
Fikir la sedikit.
