More Election Bluff By Samy Vellu

Samy Vellu Hails Abdullah's Pledges

MIC President Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu says the pledges made by Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi for the betterment of the Indian community showed the Barisan Nasional (BN) government looked after the interests of all races in the country.

Expressing MIC's appreciation to the Prime Minister, Samy Vellu said the pledges would also create more equitable opportunities for Indians.

" These are not mere promises but decisions that will be implemented with MIC's co-operation. We will ensure these decisions are carried our according to the Prime Minister's instructions in the next five years and thereafter," he said in a statement.

Abdullah made the pledges in advertisements placed by BN in Tamil newspapers today.

Among others, the Prime Minister promised that places of worship would be respected and protected, a pledge Samy Vellu said had given an "added assurance" to the Indian community.

The Works Minister said the party also welcomed Abdullah's pledge to take in more Indians into the civil service.

Other pledges include meeting educational needs of Indian children, further upgrading learning and teaching facilities in Tamil schools, increasing assistance for low-income and urban poor families and enhancing business opportunities for Indians.

" The Prime Minister's pledges have reinforced what the BN has been doing for the people for the past 50 years," added Samy Vellu who is defending his trade mark Sungai Siput parliamentary seat for the ninth term in Saturday's general election. (Bernama)

***** What Semi Value is trying to say is that NOTHING has been done thus far but Pak Lah has ASSURED that it will be done in the FUTURE! Period.

Assisting low-income citizens,
meeting educational needs of Indian children, providing help for mostly dilapidated and totally ignored Tamil schools, enhancing business opportunities for the marginalised poor, ensuring equal opportunities in civil service intakes and promotions and the safeguarding of temples should have been done as a matter of course in the past years.

But after decades of criminal neglect, the MIC being branded as a useless, self-serving party and Umno becoming synonymous with neo-apartheid practices, to claim that this or that will be done after the elections is nothing but a bogus attempt at duping the public. No one will believe this Semi Value fairy tale.

This, together with the increasingly shrill attacks against Anwar Ibrahim smacks of BN desperation.

Makkal Sakthi !

Lets work to make sure after March 8 Semi Value won't be a minister, he won't even be an MP.

You won't see even his fat shadow in Sungai Siput again.

Can anyone trust a PM who lies?
He can promise heaven, but we have already seen how he had not delivered from the 2004 election.
Are we suckers to believe in lying promises again. These dirty politicians are simply not credible and have no honour. Their promises are worthless. We have not forgotten.

If ever we have been taken for suckers it was since the date that Tun Dr Mahathir handed over power to who he possibly or perhaps considered an able and worthy successor.

However it has not been to be so. The Malaysian Public has been taken for a good 'ride' with all sorts of false glorious statements and promises whilst the elite continued looting on whatever balances were available in the coffers. After 4 tiring years for most of us - the Top Politicians come out with all sorts of promises and assurances. Wait and see.

I have said - Never TRUST a Politician. He is there only to look after his own ends and that of his relatives, cronies and sycophants to continue to relain in power. Continued lying to the public and making flagrant stories with 'spin writers' in the Press and TV borders on vulgarity in the real sense.

This is the first time that Malaysians are facing such horrendous mess and lies and un implemented promises excepting for increased salaries for the Civil Servants and the Police whose votes are more or less assured to BN.

Now we are told that extra 60,000 Policemen are going to be recruited to save us from terror whilst RM700,000,000.00 is going to be spent through crony companies which will end up unserviceable within a few months. Who loses. WE. The Rakyat. It is our money that they loot. Why do you need 60,000 Policemen. Has any effort been made to study and see how crimes and snatch thefts and petty burglaries can be overcome by the existing force instead of continuing to bloat the Polica and the Civil service. Of course, these Government servants are a valuable vOTE pool. So why not make everyone in malaysia a Government Civil Servant, Policeman or Soldier. All the votes would then go to BN and we could all have a MERRY life - if that is what life is ALL ABOUT.

When the places of worship were being destroyed, not a single voice from the authorities could be heard in aid of the Indians. Why did BN have to wait till the GE to pledge some respect?

if MIC has been doing such a great job for the last 50 years, there will be no HINDRAF. sure, BN has helped the indian community but you samy and ananda would have taken 95% of the 1.5% wealth of the malaysian indians.
