Was Moses High On Mount Sinai?
High on Mount Sinai, Moses was on psychedelic drugs when he heard God deliver the Ten Commandments, an Israeli researcher claimed in a study published this week.
Such mind-altering substances formed an integral part of the religious rites of Israelites in biblical times, Benny Shanon, a professor of cognitive psychology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem wrote in the Time and Mind journal of philosophy.
“As far Moses on Mount Sinai is concerned, it was either a supernatural cosmic event, which I don’t believe, or a legend, which I don’t believe either, or finally, and this is very probable, an event that joined Moses and the people of Israel under the effect of narcotics,” Shanon told Israeli public radio on Tuesday.
Two plants in the Sinai desert contain the same psychoactive molecules as those found in plants from which the powerful Amazonian hallucinogenic brew ayahuasca is prepared. “The Bible says people see sounds, and that is a classic phenomenon,” he said citing the example of religious ceremonies in the Amazon where people are induced to “see music”.

Jesus and the other prophets also were on psychedelic drugs when they 'conversed' with God?
Yeah, the burning bush was probably a ganja plant giving off psychadelic fumes.
Does that make the Ten Commandments a pipe dream ?
I was a free thinker. My dad & mom had been strong followers of traditional Taoism cum Budhhism.
Just before I wanted to jump off a tall building on the 17/10/1989 at 3:30 am, someone wrote LA in my mind that quickly formed into 2 words - Love & Affection. The suicide attempt was aborted.
3 weeks later a collegue invited me to his church, just before the end of the service, the pastor said he was impressed by God to pass on a message to someone in the congregation that God wants him to put off his masks, have a vertical relationship with God & a horizontal relationship with man with LOVE & AFFECTION.
God can choose His unique way to talk to us in the best way He sees fit and why are we doubting? I'm not. I'm grateful for His amazing grace that saved a wretch like me!
If you care to listen to God, He is more than happy to speak personally with you. When you do, your life will never be the same again.

Dear The Malaysian
Do u know of anyone before or after Mosses who had the same happening as Mosses? If Mosses really did consume such drug and hence dreamt about the Ten Commandments TWICE, then there should have thousands of Commandments or miracles proclaimed by now.
May be Shanon was the drug dealer who supplied the substance to the people at that time.. Ha..ha..ha...
Just think about it... How big is our brain compared to the universe that God created. Do you think the creation will be able to comprehend the Creator? What more to challenge His word? Faith is all we have, without it, we'll be saying the same thing like Shanon..
