Samy Vellu Tries To Take Credit For Acquittal Of Hindraf 31 On Attempted Murder Charge

MIC today thanked the government over the acquittal and discharge of 31 people charged with attempting to murder a police officer during an illegal assembly in front of the Sri Subramaniar temple in Batu Caves, near here, on Nov 25.

MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu said the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi had shown compassion towards the families of those detained by asking Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail to consider their appeals.

"MIC appreciates efforts by the government to lighten the burden of the families by showing its concern and being accountable to all races," he said in a statement here today.

The MIC president said he was also happy because the court had acquitted and discharged many of them of all charges while the rest were released on bail.

"The Barisan Nasional government has shown compassion towards the sufferings and anguish of the families and parents of those detained. Those involved should return to society and live as responsible and law-abiding citizens.

"MIC will continue to safeguard the interests of the Indian community to ensure a better future for them," said Samy Vellu who is also the Works Minister. (Bernama)

***** The things this old bugger will do to get back into the good books of the nation's Indian community! Why is he thanking the government for? After all wasn't it the government which with mala fide intentions jailed them in the first place and hauled them to court on the most absurd 'attempted murder' charge? Why should he thank the authorities for the beatings and humiliation that they had been subjected to while being held in prison?

And what is this nonsense that the opportunistic Samy is trying to spin by saying, "
the Barisan Nasional government has shown compassion towards the sufferings and anguish of the families and parents of those detained"? That's C-grade bullshit which only the MIC is capable of propagating. Our berjuang-ing pemimpin have not shown compassion, understanding or remorse.

The reality is that the Umno leadership had unwisely painted itself into a corner by manufacturing lies and using trumped-up charges and in the process unwittingly made martyrs of these protesters. Under pressure from within the Barisan as well as the intelligentsia in the country and influential forces outside, they had no choice but to extricate themselves from this mess pretty quickly. This they did to save themselves the embarrassment of being caught out in court as well as to avoid stepping on too many powerful toes.

Now this old raccoon Samy Vellu who apparently was instructed to take notes while Pak Lah had a meeting with Indian interest groups recently, wants to garner for himself whatever goodwill and positive vibes that may come from this move by the Attorney-General.

Semi Value has lost all credibility and his position as numero uno of the Indians too will go very soon. It's better for him to make a graceful exit now before he is unceremoniously thrown out later.

The AG listened to the PM and released the 31 charged for attempted murder. It now shows that the PM has more power than the AG to do the job that AG was assigned, that is to have no fear and favour in the administration of justice. The 31 accused should not have been charged for the high crime in the first place, since the action was a retaliation, at the worst, and was not premeditated.

The AG would be failing in his duties if he had withdrawn a fair charge against the accused, merely on the advice of the PM. He would then be taking the law in his own hand.

The incident shows that the 31 accused should not have been charged for attempted murder in the first place, and yet the most serious charge had been preferred against them, resulting in the accused losing their freedom for two weeks. Clearly, the law was made used of for political game, and the AG was a willing player obeying the wishes of the ruling party.

PM AAB now is being thanked for his kindness when he was the person who had made the 31 accused and their families suffer unnecessary pains. Now, Samy Vellu is trying to steal some limelight for begging the PM to be kind. He has played according to the script.

Indians should now stop demonstrating, but vote wisely at the next election.

Again u c, utter rubbish being said my Samy Vellu, just maintain as the Godfather of the Indian Community. He wants to be the Head of the Feudal System. I guess he will vacate the seat only when he dies.

My question here is why does he need to thank the government. The government doesn't have any concrete evidence to prove that the 31 Indian people had the intention to kill someone. Furthermore, it is understood that the case has been interprated very narrrowly on racial grounds. Face it, Samy Velly, u have squandered the lives of many Indians.

1) You should encourage all Indians to stop working as labourers in the estate.
2) You should tell Indians to stop the habit of studying fetish courses like medicine, law and engineering and move towards investment banking, financial analyst or entrepreneurship.
3) You should make Tamil a compulsory subject in the shchool to avoid all this tamil school crisis.
4)You should make the MIC president a fixed maximum 10 years post, to enable more charismatic leader you to have visionary and far sighted growth for the Indian Community. This is unlike u, a 1970's trapped leader.
5) You should let professionals to run MIC or allow a separate division of professionals to play a significant role. Let me tell u the top 10% of the cream of the Indian society are running away from MIC, because it lacks transparency, independency and feudal like system.
6) Stop bringing your family members into MIC. Vel Paari, has no proper education. How can he run MAIKA. Hire a proper CEO, paying him properly, and I bet u would get proper dividend.
7)Indians are at present divided between those came up from national school and those from tamil school. The competitive level in tamil school is perceived lower. Samy Vellu should make sure, that a special committte is set up to make sure that there indians from tamil school are given equal chance of obtaining a place in higher institution.
8) Encourage Indians to take up more professional courses like ACCA, CFA, Chartered architecture, etc. Dont concentrate on medicine, law, and engineering.
9) Encourage Indians to buy stocks, invest in investment vehicles, IPOs, bonds, derivative, etc. Why is ur strategy so conservative? You ask them to invest in MAIKA, but the equity has dropped below the intial paid up capital. That means for over 20 years, there was no growth but mere losses.

Samy, please think of the future indian community. Sacrifice urself for the betterment of the new generation of Indians. You have plundered the wealth of the Indians due to your own personal battle with Subra and Pandidthan. Remember, Indians are not bothered of ur personal fight, we are concerned with our fight for the Community.

Datuk Semi Value, you have proved that BN and ur goodself is interfering in the judiciary. There is definitely : -
a) Self review threat
b) Self interest threat
c) advocacy
d) conflict of interest
e) Gross violation of indepence

Why are you people interfering in the judiciary system? Because of interference, Patail @ Patel has become a kuli batak for the government. Where got independence?
It is like Choc Fudge, now u c!!, now u dont!!! Silap mata. My god. For god, sake, the judiciary's disassociation from the Privy Council has resulted such big mockeries in our system. From one eye pirate (Said, Pirates of the Straits of Malacca) to Vincent Tan , everyone is robbing the country.
Malaysia, you are being raped by these greedy " PENYANGAK (quoting from Nazri)"

Thank you Hindraf. You have given the Malaysian Indian Community the burning desire to work hard. It reminds us not the govenment nor MIC would help us, instead we should help ourself. We should study hard and empower ourself with knowledge, money and power. We should be law abiding, religion abiding and peace loving. We should pursue the concept of HINDRAF HADHARI for self improvement. Work hard, and be rich. Aim to be economically successful like the Chinese. Go global. We have to learn to survive. Think global act local. Dont wait for any help. You create the opportunities. Remember Laksmi Mittal, Ambani, Shiv Nadar and AK have all achieved it. They created on their own. Now it is the best time to pursue Hindraf Hadhari. Non violence through empowerment. Law abiding citizens, it is time to change.

Samy Vellu would actually have scored points with the Indian community if he actually criticized the AG for applying overkill, now that the attempted murder charges are dropped.

He could have been seen as being a champion of fairness but alas, his chance is gone.

nternational pressures worked - Malaysia drops charges against Hindus
Balaji Reddy
Dec. 17, 2007

Malaysia plans to involve Interpol but that will backfire and the connections of its Islamic government with Al-Queda and other Islamic terrorist groups will be revealed. The international pressures have started working - Malaysia droped charges against Hindus.

The made up hoax charges were ridiculous. They say Hindus are connected to LTTE of Sri Lanka. But in reality Malaysian Government is directly linked to Islamic terror groups.

In the first sign of softening of its stand, Malaysia on Monday dropped attempted murder charges against 31 ethnic Indians who took part in a massive anti-government protest.

More than five HINDRAF leaders are still under detention under the controversial internal security act that allows authorities to hold them indefinitely without trial.">>>>>>

Raja Petra Kamaruddin's "CORRIDORS OF POWER' have a lot more filth on the AG, IGP, Bodowi, et al.
A must read.

Does this show that the Government is actually "interfering" with the Judiciary or what?
And we are told that the Judiciary is independent?

Well. Let us look at this angle. If PM can 'asked' AG not to charge so and so. He definitely can also 'asked' AG to charge so and so. And that means AG is not independent. It is under the control of the ruling party. Or even acts under the order of the ruling party.

The government would promise every damn thing on earth just to make everyone happy, but the follow through only happens for the Malays e.g. sending to space, because they wanted to document how the muslims fast and pray in space. Now they are talking about unity and etc. They dont keep to their word. They said the NEP would end in 1990, now they say, they want to continue up to 2020, what’s next, until all UMNO people become fully corrupted. I dont know people. Let me give u an example. Lets say, Government wants to develop Kampung Boleh into a big town centre. The present land price would be, say RM3/square feet. Then the government would form a bumi entity and buy the land for say RM5/square feet. Then the bumi entity would sell the land to the developer say RM25/square feet. Hence, let’s 10 bumi millionaires created. Then the Bumi developer get the contract to develop the land, say RM1 Billion. He will say the contract to another Bumi contractor for RM500 Million, this contractor would sell it to another Bumi Contractor for RM 250 Million and finally that bumi contractor would sell it to a Chinese contractor for RM100 Million. The chinese contractor wants to make money, so he uses cheap material. So, along the way, so many millionaires created through legal means but in a very corrupted manner. At the end of the day, Indians in Malaysia have to be self reliant. We have to go global, make our money accross the world. The Malaysian government loves Arabs so much. I guess, we have to come to Malaysia in Arabic costume, and we would be treated like kings and queens. Remember Indians, if people like Ambani, Mittal, AK and Shiv Nadar can go accross the globe and help themselves, I am sure you people (Indians) can do it urself. Let the country rot under absolute corruption, nepotism and human rights violation. They harp on Malay supremacy until when???? Reid Commission, said, it would be one day, that it would be abandoned. This people made it permanent. Looks like apartheid in the constitution when it was supposed to be temporary. So people, use ur brains and make money accross the world. A government is supposed to eliminate the poor irrespective of races. Until today, the Malaysian government speaks Malay, Indian and Chinese. If u go to Britain, the government uses the word British and in Australia, the government uses the word Australian. You see, there is no difference between identification of races in Malaysia or being outside of Malaysia. We are not identified as Malaysian but as ethnic group. Looks like, after 50 years, the government’s agenda is not for people of Malaysia but Agenda Melayu.
