"Indians In Johor Never Been Marginalised By Govt," Says MIC Trickster
The Indian community in Johor has never been marginalised by the state government which has given attention to their educational, religious, social and cultural needs, Johor MIC Liaison Committee chairman Datuk K. S. Balakrishnan said here.
The state government had granted RM9 million over the past several years for the development and modernisation of Tamil schools, he said, adding that RM2 million was allocated last year to build new Tamil schools, renovate classrooms and buy equipment.
The allocation was the result of the request made by Johor MIC and the work was carried out by the district offices, he told Bernama in an interview.
Balakrishnan, who is the State Unity, Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Committee chairman, said the state government had also provided alternative sites for the relocation of Tamil schools when their existing sites had to make way for housing and industrial development.
He said the state government so far provided 12 new sites for such relocation, including in Taman Tun Aminah (two hectares) and Permas Jaya (2.4ha) and a piece of land in Kulai valued at RM9 million.
Johor had 70 Tamil schools and all of them received aid from the government, he said, adding that these schools also received tuition aid from the Johor Education Foundation.
"The state government helmed by Menteri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman shows concern for the needs of the Indian community, Tamil schools, Hindu temples, and housing for the community," he said.
Balakrishnan said the aid provided by the state government proved untrue the allegations of marginalisation of Indians by the so-called Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf).
He said the MIC had many channels to voice out the problems faced by the community to the government which "always listened".
He also said that the state government had so far provided 19 alternative sites for Hindu temples that had to make way for development.
Balakrishnan said the state government had recently allocated RM500,000 for the construction of a Hindu crematorium at Kebun Teh here.
On housing, he said the state government had reserved 10 per cent of the units in low- and medium-cost housing schemes for the Indian community but was prepared to raise the quota to 50 per cent in places such as Labis and Chaah where there were many Indians. (Bernama)
***** This political greed merchant is seeking to ingratiate himself with the Johor MB and the MIC head honcho Semi Value by trotting out meaningless figures and conveniently avoiding any mention of the many acts of discrimination that ordinary Indians there are subjected to. He should also explain why the Johor Indian Business Association has for all these years been crying themselves hoarse over the lack of opportunities and the many obstacles placed in their path to progress by both the state government and federal agencies.
This fraudster is merely interested in his own future; but by denying any marginalisation it is he who will come to terms with reality when elections take place.

Yeah wondering how far 11 million can go these days even for one year in a school's budget...
What do you expect from a MIC Chairman? Look at what happened to the MB from Cameron Highlands! The DPM will get on his case for saying anything other than the usual "BS"!
11 Million Ringgit? I wonder how much when into the "wrong pockets"!?
Come on...the Malaysian Public is not that stupid! Stop giving us this rubbish...if you can't say something logical...don't say anything!
They are not marginalized : when the flood come, everyone are soak in the water. Talk about fairness. ;)
this is exactly WHY there is a Hindraf uprising...all these MCA/MIC denial mode dudes 'fighting' for their community or more like their immediate family lah!
It would have been a more compelling case if this MIC leader had provided comparative financial allocation of other communities.
Standalone numbers by themselves are meaningless.
I think this is utter bullshit. I know so many Indians in the Government Services who are very highly qualified with Masters and Phd, but rotting to the core. They dont get promoted. Most retire at Level 48. What rubbish the government is talking. Your work for 30 years and you retire with peanut salary of RM5,000. These people have not been promoted for ages. Why? Absolute racism. They say meritocracy. Utter rubbish. People who are very much younger and hopeless get promoted to Level 52, 54 and JUSA. Tan Sri Ramon Navaratnam once admitted, that the Government is not promoting the Indians. Denilson Jayasooria also admitted the Government is not promoting Indians at the required rate. So by giving peanuts to MIC Goons like Balakrishnan, we have a Shanghai puppet talking all the bullshit. What is RM9 Million compared RM9Billion for all the mosques and Islamic activities. So, Balakrishnan, I know you are just vying for ur Johor seat. Things are not find. Let me tell you something. You go to United Plantations’s Jenderata Estate. You can see a lot of Indians still working as labourers. You go IOI estates, there are still many Indians who are working as labourers. Get this people out of the estates, you MIC goons. Save these Indians. Lastly, have principles. Dont be a boneless creature
what do you expect this goon to say? against UMNO? better not coz that may invite a meeting with DPM and his political career could be finished.
he cares for the indians? ask those indians in his constituency. if they say so, then we move on, ok.
The Permasjaya Tamil school which is stated by this bag carrier (as stated my some MICwalls)is actually a land allocated by the estate where the Tamil School previously. The land was converted to development land. This is the only school that has a football field. BN fellas would never ever allocate a land to Tamil school easily more so with a field thrown in. Greedy eyes are already watching this prime land. Johor Indians have to careful.
Sometimes you wonder if the MIC leaders know the meaning of 'marginalised'. The leaders have their lot by towing the lines of their Great Leader likje the Great Leader of North Korea. He throws them crumbs. They pick them up with foklded hands and thank him for the 'grace' given to them,.
With such specimens around who are interested in their own welfare, do you expect them to worry about the rest. They will just saty that it is the 'karma' of the downtrodden Indian and then move on to higher poilitical positions. If one could only work out or get the actual wealth worth of the politician today before he got the 'burning' desire to become a politician and help the masses - you will easily know how much he has pillaged and looted. But of course you will not know the amounts hidden in far away safe corners of the earth Maybe Nallakaruppan could throw some light on some of these fellows.
