BN Govt Fair To All Races, Says Pak Lah. Is This Really True?
The Barisan Nasional (BN) government will continue the practice of power-sharing and attend to the needs of all races fairly and equitably, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
He said the BN government would ensure that no single community or ethnic group would be left behind in the mainstream of development.
"As such, it is my hope that Parti Bersatu Sabah will continue to progress for the sake of strengthening the Barisan Nasional struggle," he said in his message in conjunction with the 22nd PBS Annual General Assembly at the Dewan KDCA, near here on Nov 11.
Abdullah, who is also the BN chairman, said Malaysians were most fortunate as they could enjoy progress and development in a peaceful and stable environment.
"Through consensus, tolerance and cooperation between the people of various races and religions, we have built Malaysia into a united and developed nation. So, we must use the diversity as a strength to take the country to greater heights," he said.
Abdullah said the government had laid the foundation for future growth particularly through the National Mission and the Ninth Malaysia Plan. He hoped the people of Sabah would enjoy the economic transformation once the Sabah Development Corridor was launched by year end. (Bernama)
***** If only what the PM said was reality, there would be no luckier people in the world than Malaysians. Alas the discrimination faced on almost a regular basis by half the population of this once fair land of ours belies this argument.
Perhaps those who discriminate don't realize or remember it, but those constantly on the receiving end cannot easily forget and nor are they allowed to forget by continuous, unrelenting discriminatory practices in the name of government policies meant to 'level' the playing field. The difficulties, disappointments, miseries and tribulations experienced by them are painfully real and not imagined. Now to tell them that the government is fair to all races is morally insensitive and at best a cruel joke.

Simple litmus test. This country is governed on the basis of political horsetrading, cronyism, family ties and a litany of unspoken shame. The administration is not comprising of tha ablest people, with the dedication, determination and integrity to set the direction for the nation. The performance record speaks for itself. And the worse, is corruption and money politics. To anwer your question: the Malaysian electorate always get the leaders they deserve, regardless what has been said. The statement is just bullshit. Suffering from verbal diarrhoea.
Rubbish
A clown who yells to the crowd that he is funny instead of being one.
anon is right. rubbish.
If everyone were to be treated fairly, then
- why is there a quota system for university entrance ?
- why the discount for house buyers of a certain racial group ?
- why are job opportunities streamlined into racial quota requirements ?
- why are the minority groups poorly represented in the police and armed forces ?
Pak Lah, tolong lah, buat serupa cakap.
Oh boy! Is the PM high on something? Or is this hypocrisy at its prime? God I wish each time the politicians talk like this lightning strikes them on the spot.
You say one thing and do entirely different thing.
This is islam hadari's idea of fairness--- 10 for me, 1 for you
Pak Lah is smoking his socks...again!
~qwerty~
In 2002, September 5to be exact, Pak Lah spoke to a foreign magazine (FEER) and was quoted as having answered a question asking him: "How do you assure people that patronage won't play a role in your administration?"
Pak Lah answered: "I intend to strengthen the currrent environment of "fair play" and "transprency" in the corporate sector. Apart from being morally reprehensible, cronysim distorts efficient allocation of resources and renders politically connected companies uncompetitive and dependent only on government contracts. This flies in the face of enhancing economic competitiveness. There is also the potential for moral hazard, which is why some of these companies were managed in the way they were in the past because there was an expectation of a bailout if they ran into problems."
On changes helping the bumiputras, Pak Lah answered: "There must be a time they are allowed to be a challenged and allowed to develop their competitive edge. That's why we say, "run, throw away the crutches."
Today, we wtnessed the UMNO AGM currently on going and we can hear for ourselves (or read news reports) that Pak Lah is singing a different tune, a different song, now that he is no-longer the leader in-waiting. He is on the throne of the primitive tribal UMNOputras.
Not only you cannot believe what he has said, you also cannot believe what he has in thoughts (the unspoken words) in his mind!!!
He has craved himself to be the greatest hypocrite and the worse prime minister in the country's history.
