Younger Candidates For Next General Election Says Khairy Jamaluddin

The younger generation should be given a chance to contest in the next general election, UMNO Youth deputy chief Khairy Jamaluddin said.

"In line with our effort to introduce more new faces, I hope that these people would be considered as possible candidates. But it's up to the party leadership to choose the candidates," he told reporters after the opening of Rasah UMNO Youth and Wanita division delegates conferences here Sunday night.

Khairy was hopeful that the trend of fielding new faces, like what was seen in the 2004 polls, would continue. He said this was necessary because in politics, continuous efforts were needed to rejuvenate the party and government.

"New faces can come not only from Umno Youth but also Wanita and Puteri Umno. And they can also include those who're already around and prepared (to shoulder greater responsibility)," he said. (Bernama)

***** I sokong this suggestion by KJ. As it stands now, a sizeable number of the older pemimpin2 are corrupt to the core. Not only have they contributed to the rot and decay consuming Umno, through their undefined 'perjuangan' they are also largely responsible for the disunity and religious tension prevailing among our multiethnic population. Along the way they have also compromised the civil service, the legislature and the judiciary. By their politicking they have caused the deterioration in the efficiency of the Royal Malaysia Police and have encouraged vigilantism through the infamous RELA. Thank God they have by and large left the Armed Forces unsullied, at least for now.

They have ruined our education system and for petty political and personal gain, disadvantaged two generations of Malaysians by depriving them of the mastery of English. Apart from promoting mediocrity and shamelessly lauding substandard achievements with the absurd "Malaysia Boleh" refrain, they have also reduced our varsities to second-rate degree dispensing mills.

Given this sorry state of affairs, any alternative is better than the current bunch of geriatric Umno warlords. A new generation of Umno leaders, preferably untutored, unschooled and untainted by the old scum would be the correct medicine for our ailing national unity. Of course as with anything new there is no guarantee. Look how the 'young' Mohd Khir Toyo turned out!

"The younger generation should be given a chance to contest in the next general election" Does this mean his FIL, the 68year-old sleeping 'beauty', would be pushed aside in the coming general elections?

"..they have by and large left the Armed Forces unsullied" What about the army personnel demanding money from Johoreans waiting to be rescued in last December floods?

Will you the risk to vote for these young types from U Must Not Object. Insulting and putting the blame on non-Malay communities without offering an apology? Mat rempit types? Aggressively shouting for prolong of racist policies from these young? The old if rotten to the core, now want Malaysians to vote for the new. From the frying pan into the fire or asking us to choose between the advancing army or jumping off the cliff. No Thank you, de facto PM, there are other better choices other than UMNO young candidates.

I appeal to all long suffering Malaysians, in the coming election please vote for the opposition, be it PAS, Keadilan, DAP even independent candidates!

It's time to cut down on BN's majority, let them eat humble pie & strengthten the opposition in parliament as a form of check & balance. We had given the BN a huge mandate in the last election & look at the mess we are in!

Vote BN Not!

UMNO younger candidates? Check the Malay mainstreamnewspapers, some of them are complaining that KLCC did not have enough Bumi-owned shop lot premises, too many for non-Bumis. And the groans and moans will eternally be harped by these young political punks. Vote for them? In future they want your house to be shared too. Ridiculous! No votes for UMNO, young or old.

The younger generation is better? I disagree.
Look at the highly educated youngsters, they refuse to repay their loans. No personal intergrity.
Then the young mat rempits?
These young UMNOputras are just too impatient to want to take over from the old guards & to get rich quick, just like the Khir Toyo & Abdullah's son-in-law himself.
If you believe this Khairy Mamak, you will get cheated for another 5-years, just like being cheated by Abdullah for 5-years.
What are we waiting for, THE MALAYSIAN, change the government in the coming GE. Vote any parties except BN!

Malaysian voters SHOULD NEVER forget the racist remarks made at the UMNO Youth AGM all these years!! If ever a vote be given, it should not be to any UMNO candidates. Be young or old. It is a BETRAYAL to our non-Malay ancestry if vote for them!! Our ancestors will never forgive us for being spineless.

There is nothing wrong with voting for the opposition.

The once dominant poltical parties in Japan and India have been toppled before. That is democracy at work. It is also possible in Malaysia, if the people will it.

Khairy? The highly educated racist talking about younger candidates?

I assume he must be talking about shoring up his support among his young Mat Rempit in UMNO.

Think about it, the Mister Baboon of Edu, Hisamuddin is going up the ladder, he is the second in charge, who else can benefit from such political brownies point if not him.

Don't get me wrong, I have no objection to younger candidates since our current politician is lacking or shall I say no brain, is dragging Malaysia down. But swapping politicol racist Baboon like Khairy with current politician is not going to bring us forward, may even bring us backward.
