Holiday On April 26 To Mark Tuanku Mizan's Installation
Bernama reports that April 26 will be a holiday for civil servants to mark the installation of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin.
Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Sidek Hassan, in announcing this in a statement from his office in Putrajaya Friday, said the Public Service Department (PSD) would issue the circular on the matter to all government departments and agencies as soon as possible.
Tuanku Mizan, 44, will be installed as the 13th Yang di-Pertuan Agong in a ceremony at Istana Negara on April 26.
He was elected by the Malay rulers at the 208th meeting of the Conference of Rulers at Istana Negara on Nov 3, 2006, for a five-year term starting Dec 13 last year. He replaces Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Syed Putra Jamalullail.
