Do You Believe This Najib Claim? - "Indian Community's Position Improving Under BN!"

From Bernama comes this astounding report!

The position of the Indian community in the country has been improving under the Barisan Nasional (BN) government which looks after the interest of all races, said Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that based on his observation and visits abroad, many students from the community were endeavouring to improve their position and becoming professionals, thus bringing benefits to the country.

"I had met with Malaysian students in Bali and 80 per cent of them were medical students who were of Indian origin. It was also the same in Sulawesi and the University of Crimea in Ukraine.

"They were all sponsored by the MIC (sic). The position of the Indian community is improving from time to time," he said at a gathering of the leader with the people during the campaign for the by-election for the Machap state seat in Tebong, near here tonight.

Najib said although some of the Indian community were staying in the estates, they could be developed through the education system provided by the government to improve their standard of living.

"Thus, the (Indian) community must continue to vote for the candidate who would always champion their cause, namely Lai Meng Chong from the Barisan Nasional and not the candidate who only knows how to speak but cannot provide any assistance," he said.

Najib, who is also the BN deputy chairman, believed that the Indian community, right from the days of the Alliance up to the BN, had given their undivided support to the ruling party.

"Can people like Nallakaruppan (who is now a leader of the opposition Parti Keadilan Rakyat) help us? Let us not listen to issues which have nothing to do with us," he said.

The Deputy Prime Minister said any problem should be referred to the elected representative, and subsequently to the state government, and then to the federal government or himself to be resolved.

There are about 1,403 Indian voters in the Machap state constituency with the majority of them living in Tebong, in the oil palm plantation.

****** Whoa! Lucky people these Indians are! The way Najib says it, it's as if Indians have had it bad under some evil, racist government over the past few decades and now under the BN, their lot is improving! The stories our pemimpin are willing to spin with a straight face for a mere 1,400 votes.

The very fact there are so many Indians studying abroad itself is an indictment of the racist education policies of the BN where even the poorest of the poor Indian student is overlooked while a Malay millionaire's child is given easy passage to local universities because in the Umno dominated government's mind the Malay is more deserving as he/she has been historically deprived, is weak and incapable and therefore a have-not!

If there are many Indian students abroad taking professional courses the credit goes entirely to their families who mortgage and borrow to send their kids there after every avenue is blocked locally by lopsided and racist government policies. And even then it is the children of middle-class parents who make it. The poorer ones are in government hosted facilities like the Simpang Renggam detention centre where they finally end up after getting caught trying to make ends meet in the only way left for them.

The simple truth is that Indians are the most adversely affected and have borne the brunt of the cruel and unjustifiable Never Ending Policy, despite whatever Najib and his fellow Malay politicians may feel to the contrary. If the Malays responsible for this extremely pathetic situation had a conscience, they would do something positive about it and rectify the mistakes of the past, instead of telling outright lies.

Philosophically thinking....am trying to learn why politicians the world over always waging their tongues and what wags it? That lies is the only thing which their mind can never exhaust, never alienate, never be tortured by it, never fear or distrust (their own lies) and never dream of regretting (uttering lies). Probably lying is the only thing for them to construct a false sense of security. For us, there are a lot of things there are to learn about their lies!

Same disinformation tactics as used by the Nazis, twisting and turning the lies until it becomes the truth. Josef Goebells, Hitler's minister of propaganda who was hanged in Nuremberg, has been reborned in Malaysia.

It reminded me of Plato's saying that goes something like this: (quote): "Wise people talk because they have something to say. Fools talk cos' "they have to say something". (Unquote) Najib belongs to the latter case cos' he has to say something to machap voters!!

LOL..it would be a real joke, if it weren't so sad. The Indian community is clearly the "collateral damage" arising from the Never Ending Policy. The Indians from plantations, especially, suffer from all the disadvantages of rural folks, but not the government help available to Malays. And they lack the business networking and educational base the Chinese community has been able to use to counter the negative effects of the NEP.
The odd situation I can see is in spite of all this, the Indian community has mostly been very loyal to Barisan, especially the MIC. Unlike the Chinese who have large numbers of solid DAP supporters.
I've never seen a satisfactory analysis which can explain this scenario.

Kitty Kat 46, Indians vote MIC because they lack education. That's why MIC & BN want to keep them that way. Simple, innit?
