There Are No Hindus In Alor Gajah, Malacca!
That is the reasonable conclusion one can come to when driving on the spanking new road that bypasses this quaint town. Either that or the Indians I saw in the vicinity were out of town people just passing through, or they were all Muslims and Christians.
How else can one explain the presence of these very attractive posters on the roads which prominently scream "Selamat Menyambut Hari Raya Aidilfitri," courtesy of the Perbandaran Alor Gajah? Is there a rule that festival greetings other than for Hari Raya should not be put on such posters?
This is what happens when Malays dominate departments from top to bottom, that they cannot visualise beyond the sea of Malays in front of them and find it hard to notice or acknowledge that there is a larger world out there which comprises people of different races and religions. Such monopoly or homogeneity is not good in a multi-racial society for it breeds prejudice, parochialism, chauvinism and jingoistic notions of racial and religious superpatriotism.
Perhaps in future years the mainstream newspapers should highlight these examples of narrow-minded and insular silliness. Religious festivals and the 'open house' celebrations should logically be the opportune time to greet and get to know each other better socially and not to create greater divisions among the otherwise rational public.

Malaysian'
That's what happens when Indonesian cut-throats are given IC, bumiputra status, and promoted to all levels in the public sector ( Just take a look at Selangor. right from MB to the file clerks are 2 generations of Indon illegals comfortably raping our country) They were never here when we got our Merdeka. There were Malays, Indians and Chinese living in peace and respected each other. In fact we could walk into any house in our neighbourhood during the festvals i.e. Deepavali, Chinese New Year , Hari Raya or Christmas and help ourselves to the spread of food, and that was so 'Malayan" then in the early 60's.
These Indons never knew how to live with other races... see they slaughter even Indons of Chinese origin-just out of pure jealousy because the Indons of Chinese origin are hard working and in control.
They screw our history books to teach only of one race and religion. Did'nt we all learn of Jesus,Mohamad, Buddha, Confusius, Loa Tze, The Vedas and a list of world famous persons before May 13th.1969.
Well thanks to our former Moronic Prime Minister all these bigots, racists, murderers and thieves have landed on our fair shores just so that former PM could increase the "malay" quota !!
Teach history HONESTLY without lying, then we might be able to respect other races and not be suspiciously defensive of their actions. The world does'nt revolve around Muslims or Islam!
To all my Muslim friends "Selamat Hari Raya" but first to my Hindu friends "Happy Dipavali"!
Disillussioned Malaysian.
