Mat Rempit - Kelantan MB And Police Give Contrasting Findings.
The Mat Rempit situation is well under control, says Tok Guru Dato' Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, Menteri Besar of Kelantan. He goes on to say that lack of religious education is the main cause that these young daredevils have grown in numbers. He therefore implies that religious inputs in Kelantan have directly resulted in their lower occurence there when he proudly announced: Gelagat mat rempit di Kelantan terkawal.
The Kelantan police have however given a different picture. According to them 5,600 summons on 2,000 'mat rempit' were issued in Kota Baru this year!
How do you reconcile these two reports which are as contrasting as the EPU and ASLI findings on the bumiputera corporate equity? How much can religious teachings and advice help to solve the Mat Rempit menace? Are the police mistaken and does PAS ruled Kelantan have the answer to this and other social problems faced by our people? Let us read your opinions here.
