Hypermarket Refuses To Sell Sugar To Non-Malays!
A probe has been launched into complaints against Mydin Hypermarket for allegedly refusing to sell sugar to non-Malays. The Johor Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry’s enforcement unit began the investigation following several complaints.
Among the complaints include a letter to the New Straits Times alleging that the hypermarket only sold sugar to Malay customers but told others that they had run out. Other residents here also complained that the outlet was racially biased against non-Malays.
The state enforcement unit chief Fahmi Kasim said a team conducted spot checks at the Mydin Hypermarket in Bandar Baru Uda here. Without disclosing any details, he said the management had been advised not to practise discrimination.
He also said the management had earlier explained that it was trying to restrict customers from buying too much sugar at the expense of those who would be celebrating the festivities. Mydin Hypermarket management, both here and in Kuala Lumpur, could not be reached for comments. Fahmi said it was against national policy to sell consumer items selectively.
**** Now this is the type of crap that the country doesn't need. What a silly excuse, celebrating the festivities konon. What, isn't Deepavali considered a festival by these bigots? Or are they trying to imitate politicians and trying to be seen as championing the bangsa and agama?
Why is it that when Mydin the roti canai seller increases the price of his roti by five sen the Consumer Ministry hotshots including the minister are photographed inspecting the poor mamak and his stall, while this Mydin is allowed to get away scot free for practising a type of apartheid? At the very least the hypermarket should have been given a show cause notice.
On the face of it this may seem like a trivial matter, but it is small incidents like this if left unnoticed that would lead to big trouble at a later date and time. In fact this report may already have had tiny repercussions. Someone reading it could quite possibly say, "I will not step into a Mydin Hypermarket ever and would actively encourage my friends the same."
What do you readers have to say about this? Should silly stunts like what Mydin pulled be tolerated or swatted down like we would irritating flies?

Mydin USJ has RELA members controlling traffic and security all around the complex.
Money + Race = Power.
Best thing to do - Don't shop at Mydin!
We already have enough racial discrimination in our daily lives and now this Mydin joined in the foray. And our enforcement officer just give ADVISE only?
Anyway, I haven't and will never shop in Mydin. However, I do shop/eat at other bumi/muslim shops that donot practise discrimination because I'm not a racist.
OK, let\'s see now...a company owned by Muslim Indians, whom lacking a distinct cultural identity, marrying the true Malays in order to gain a sort of identity, panders to the Malays by prohibiting sale of sugar to Non-Malays...Hmm...
Hmm...I thought Pakistan was still open to migration for the likes of you people?
Shame on the bigot MYDIN!
Malaysians must never tolerate this racist who's only interest in this country is profits, profits, more profits and hauling the cash back to his "motherland" India !He's such a hippocrite businessman and if you check is assets....hmmmm purely here for raping our country because we are such suckers when it comes to business in the name of religion,AND he knows it!! Pack the traitor out of Malaysia.
But we have corrupt enforcement so....semuanya ok lah !!!
Shanghaistephen.
Tell this m****f***** this is Malaysia, where we have a plural society... He's Indian right ? WTF is he so bodek to the melayu... forgot he 's roots mah ? Also forgot he celebrate Dipavali back in his kampong in India.Traitor !
What difference will it make for anyone of us non-muslims by leaving our comments here. This country didn't belong to us from the very first day our ancestors set foot here. Neither does it belong to the bumiputras. The actual owners of this land are the Orang Asli. What priveledges have they been given? Not even the right education.
Where are the Malays actually from? Indonesia? We should pack everyone back to where they belong. And leave this land for the orang asli. Would anyone of you agree? Would the politicians agree? No they won't. This country can survive without the politicians but the politicians can't survive without this country. Where else can they get a few millions stupid kampung people supporting them even when the whole country knows the politicians here have the lowest IQ. Just listen to them speak at press conferences. You tend to ask yourself how the hell did they get to that post first of all.
Let it be. The hell with Mydin and all the racist muslims. We have survived up to now and we will survive for the future. The younger muslims can be fanatic, wouldn't make a difference to us. Our forfathers have lived the life of a colourful and vibrant Malaysia which wasn't only for the Malays.
For your information, Mydin USJ does not sell any kind of dog food; only cat food. That too tells alot about Mydin's mentality. And now this.
I have decided that was the first and last time I would shop at Mydin. I think we should not support such outlets even though many of the other grocery items are priced lower than other hypermarkets.
