Malaysians Pray For World Peace.
With the world slowly deteriorating into a massive killing field, and war, natural disasters and violent crimes the staple news everywhere, what else can the citizens of a small country like ours do but pray. And pray we did. Malaysians of all faiths prayed to God to implore His aid in helping man overcome their seemingly limitless problems.
Tens of thousands of Malaysians Friday offered special prayers for world peace and those killed in the latest Middle-East conflict.
Over a 1,000 Muslims from various government agencies and non-governmental organisations held the special prayers, organised by the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry, at the Federal Territory Mosque in Jalan Duta here at 10am. Its Minister Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil was also present.
Christians also held a special mass at St Paul's Church in Petaling Jaya at 9am for the purpose while Hindus will do the same at the Sri Thandayutha Pani Temple in Jalan Ipoh at 7.30pm tonight.
Sikhs and Buddhists are also to offer the peace prayers at the Sentul Gurdwara here and the Than Hsiang temple in Bayan Baru, Penang at 5.30 pm and 7.30 pm respectively.
Shahrizat said that Malaysians were saddened by the sufferings of the people of Lebanon and Palestine as a result Israel's atrocities in the two countries.
May the Almighty God listen to the humble pleas of His people.
