Khir Toyo promises no more mistakes. I DONT believe him.
Lessons learned from the development of Klang Valley will be used to avoid mistakes in implementing the Second Klang Valley extending from Klang to Sepang, said Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo.
"We made mistakes in the development of the Klang Valley. If we still make mistakes in developing the second one, it only means we have not learned our lessons," he said.
The perennial problems in the Klang Valley which encompasses Kuala Lumpur, Shah Alam, Petaling Jaya and Klang are lack of recreational areas, traffic congestion and poor drainage which contributed to flash floods, he said in an interview over Selangor FM radio Monday.
He said the Second Klang Valley would have a recreational park at a beach in Sepang, a 16km canal joining Langat River and Klang River to prevent floods and a public transport system to ease traffic flow.
Dr Mohamad Khir said as the leading developed state, Selangor was facing different problems from those encountered by the less developed states.(???)
"We have to move forward with our policies. We have to be bold to make changes and we have to find a formula which has not been done by other states," he said. On illegal factories, he said the state government was studying ways to weed out the problem.
The Second Klang Valley would be developed over the next 15 years. Work has started on a man-made 12km beach at Morib and a waterway for transportation at Kuala Langat.
**** Those who read this blog regularly should know by now that Toyo is one man that I will never trust as far as development and the adverse effects of it are concerned. I've yet to see him do something that I can commend him for. No luck thus far but I'm still waiting.
