Issues Will Be Explained To The People - Zam
The Ministry of Information will continue explaining to the people issues relating to allegations against the government, to ensure the successful implementation of the national mission under the Ninth Malaysia Plan (9MP).
Minister Datuk Zainuddin Maidin said the government's success in carrying out the national development plan would end speculation and allegations hurled at the government.
"The ministry's duty is also to explain to the people that politics is not everything, but on the other hand, development would override the problems faced," he told reporters after the hoisting of a giant Jalur Gemilang at the ministry level at Wisma TV, Angkasapuri here.
He said the people should be clear about the issues as their future would depend on the management of the nation's development efforts without any disruption.
"If all the promises made by the government are successfully implemented and the people benefit from them, they would wipe out all the allegations, but if the promises are not fulfilled, then there could be some truth to the allegations.
"The question of whether the allegations are true or not will depend on the success of the national mission," he added.
"The ministry will undertake efforts to ensure the people understand that what is more important is their support for the 9MP," he said.
**** So it looks like while Pak Lah takes on Dr Mahathir head-on, the information ministry and its dedicated chief, Zainuddin Maidin will turun padang to explain to the people the circumstances and problems arising. I wonder what is next. I do worry for the nation with all this uncertainty.
