Malaysia's Immigration Department - An International Disgrace.
How often have you heard of anyone having a good word to say about the Immigration Department? In my case NEVER.
How many of you have had the misfortune of entering an office of the department? Lucky if you haven't. The grim, morose and unsympathetic faces of the staff, as if each were nursing a painful haemmorhoid, is there for all to see. No exaggeration. It's as if our presence has somehow disturbed their very busy work schedule and that they are doing us a big favour just to plant their backsides on their respective chairs.
Their matlamat seems to be to give the maximum difficulty to any matter at hand and put as many obstacles to a smooth resolution of every problem that one may have. Perhaps when they join this infernal department they take a solemn oath to guard and protect the Tanah Air by making things so impossibly complicated that no one will dare come to them on any matter. If that is true they have succeeded splendidly.
Unfortunately there is this group of harassed people called 'Permanent Residents(PR) who have no choice but to meet these devils in human form and the suffering they undergo is deplorable.
They have to put up with THREATS, and made to wait 6 months just to TRAVEL OVERSEAS.
The deaf and dumb immigration department has been condemned by almost everyone including FOMCA but do you think they care? No way! Hey, they've got their matlamat remember?

You're right. An absolute disgrace. I've heard so many similar horror stories. It almost seems like they don't welcome foreigners over here.
It's important that experiences like that of habisboy should be highlighted. At the very least it shows that there is still hope for the other expats and PRs.
