Malaysian Muslim Consumers Association: No Need To Open Up UiTM To Other Races

From The Star Online
Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UiTM) is the last bastion for Malay and bumiputra students to further their studies and there is no need to open it up to other races, the Malaysian Muslim Consumers Association (PPIM) said.

In a response to the proposal by Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim for UiTM to open up 10% of its intake to other races, PPIM said the move would be seen as challenging the special rights of the Malays.

PPIM project director Noor Nirwandy Mat Noordin said the government and its leaders had to be tougher in defending such issues because although the country was multiracial, there was "no need to sideline Malay special rights. If something like this is allowed to happen, then there will be a worrying situation where many Malay institutions will crumble and be 'Malaysia-nised'.

"It is hoped that the exclusiveness of UiTM is not undermined by anyone and it be allowed to continue as an institution that will strengthen the Malays," he said in a statement.

Noor Nirwandy said that UiTM has not only produced many excellent scholars but has also had many graduates who were able to compete with other races in the job market.

He added that the reason given by Khalid, which was to create more competition amongst students, was unnecessary because university students already competed amongst each other.
***** What this and other pathetic Malay groups are basically saying is, "just leave us alone and let us wallow in our own mediocrity."

In a roundabout way they are doing you non-Malays a big favour. Frankly do you guys want to go head-to-head and compete all year round with millions of Bumis who are exceptionally good? Luckily for you, the policies of this government and the attitude of those pro-Malay 'nationalists' have rendered the major race hamstrung and decrepit after fifty years of spoonfeeding. Mass lethargy has set in and these are not optimum conditions for the strive for excellence.

Given the current state of our race politics and the expressed desire by many Malays to continue to safely and securely reside, without hassle and competition, in government-sponsored tempurung till the day they croak, it would not be unreasonable to opine that most of these people are never going to be able to match up to you guys, not even in a hundred years. Many progressive Malays have voiced similar opinion to mine but alas their arguments have till now fallen on deaf ears.

So let them keep their UiTM and the other so-called 'last bastions' which perforce ensure that they remain firmly in last place. You are the real fortunate ones who should work that much harder and smarter and become truly world-beaters in this nation which through the accident of history is still being administered by tempurung vendors.

This is just a small issue. Its obvious that uitm don't have to open up to other races. Uitm's policy and objective is to specially help young malay students in competing with other races in academics. Thats the main purose of this institute is built. Unlike other IPTA's like UM, UMS, UKM, or whatsoever IPT's available, they are very tolerable with other races. Khalid should realize this matter, but it is his purpose to create such acts so that more non-malays attention is bring towards the opposition's favour.

before we make any comments or proposal,we must first understand what is MARA and UITM is all about.all, malay and non-malay,must UNDERSTAND the vision, the objective, the philosophy, the mission and the history of MARA and UITM before making any statement whatsoever.

This is the case of an EVIL empire hoodwinking & convincing and forcing a normal Malay( entire race ) to feel sick and disabled so as to depend solely on poisonous laced crutches provided by the UMNO hypocrites to enslave them forever.

For now after 50 years they have become real cripples because they think they are, while the EVIL Empire laugh all the way to the Bank. May God have mercy on their souls

This is a political tactic only. Khalid also knew that is difficult to open 10% quota for non Malays but he just playing game. He want to reach more supportes from non Malays. That's why he give that suggestion....

Wheather Khalid is going for cheap publicity or not is not important. I don't think any non-bumi would want to go there. The sad part is that these students reacted so negatively to just a proposal. Racist to the core. Apartheid is NOT dead!
Anyway, the guv can keep on spoon feeding and giving tongkat to them. That will make the 'lain-lain' stronger and more competitive. How many of them can really survive in the real world?

Believe it or not, Majority of my friends are Malay. However, non of them go to Malay only university or school. They all either go to multi-racial school, international school, Chinese School and overseas universities. Few years back, I asked my best friend who's Malay, why she attended Chinese School and overseas university? She told me her father told all his children to follow like the Chinese. I also asked her why she didn't get help from the government or get subsidise? She said her father told his children not to be like the Malay. All my friends are doing exceptionally well and some than me.

You can keep 100% to yourself, but will the private sectors wish to employ such narrow minded & racist graduates??

Actually graduates from UiTM are doing well in the corporate world. And the ability to perform is usually due to individuals not which uni they are from. Come on wake up UiTM have been there for so long and there was no issues before why is there a need to bring up the issue now? Please dont use words like neo colonialism are such, its use can only be understood by a dictionary and sound so evil. When in actuallity you use the word because you define the situation such.

Anonymous,
Can we ask the Education Ministry where the finance of Uitm comes from, isn't it the money from the Public ? Why is it only for a single race when the money comes from everyone ???? Screw the Muslim Consumers Association if they do not even know where the mnoey comes from to finance the University.
Balls to Muslim Consumers Ass

Why is there a need to open up! Do you think that they will welcome your bright brains and humiliate them. Let them be as they are. No need for competition.

There are two reasons why I will not recruit any UiTM graduates -
1. Mediocrity. If they were smart, they should actually welcome the non-Malays to join them as such students could act as positive catalyst to enhance their performances; and
2. Selfish attitude. So, they protest and want to protect their turf. Fine. In any organisation, employers are looking for team players and those who could blend well with others to help achieve corporate goals. These bunch simply won't do.

It is no mere wonder that the unemployment rate of the graduates continue to climb with no end in sight. While the other races move on, these morons will be left way far behind. What a pity.

In any case, even if the authorities were to proceed with the 10% intake for non-Bumis, I will not even send my kids to study at UiTM. Do you realise what 90% rubbish can rub onto a clean glass?

Non-Malays should NOT go to Uitm. I don't know what kind of academic standards they have but those grads coming from Uitm were some of the worst I have seen. They have hardly any soft skills and poor articulation skills. Some of those interviewed for positions in the organisation I work for could not even speak English.

Do these idiots know who actually pays for their education? Umno or taxpayers of all races? By all means, keep it exclusively for Malays but please do not use taxpayers money otherwise you're just parasites. I'm sure Umno has stolen enough money to fund UiTM for many years.

"I'm sure Umno has stolen enough money to fund UiTM for many years."

You have proof to back that up? I bet you dont, that's why you are anonymouse and scared of being seditious.

Btw UiTM is under MARA, clearly most of them here do not understand or even know about MARA history before even attempting to comment.
