BN Leaders Agree With PM Umno Not A Bully

Leaders of Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties today agreed with Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi that Umno was not a bully.

MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu said Umno as the mainstay of the BN had never bullied other component parties and in fact, listened to their views before making any decision.

"This culture does not exist in the BN. If it had, the coalition would have fallen apart a long time ago," he told reporters after attending MCA's 55th annual general assembly here.

PPP president Datuk M. Kayveas said it was not true that BN component parties were bullied by Umno but people's perception that this was happening should be corrected.

Gerakan president Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon said this perception was being exploited by the opposition for political mileage.

"When(BN) leaders make negative statements, it will be exploited by the opposition and cause people to believe that there is a bullying culture," he said.

Outgoing MCA deputy president Tan Sri Chan Kong Choy said BN leaders should take the responsibility to correct the perception situation to preserve BN harmony.

Abdullah in his speech when opening the assembly had said Umno had never resorted to bullying its partners in the coalition and allegations that it did were the creation of the opposition in trying to erode the people's support for it. (Bernama)

***** Even after getting the short end of the stick for so long, the slaves of the BN component parties still cannot bring themselves to admit the fact that they have been relegated to second class status. With such a state of denial existing can we honestly expect them to fight for the rights of the average non-umnoputera? Not in a zillion years. Boot them all out at the earliest. They are merely opportunistic, self-serving politicians who don't have the interests of the common man at heart. How disappointing.

It's embarrassing how they grovel at Umno's feet. Who are they trying to kid that they are not treated as nothing but house maids by Umno? Bloody fools.

The response of these bunch of so-called leaders (from MCA,MIC,Gerakan,PPP)of the BN coalition showed how well they have been trained by their master.

The title of this topic is a fine example. Out going MCA president OKT who for the past 5 years was a UMNO lackey suddenly mustered enough courage to voice the feelings of his party in his parting speech.

But when their UMNO master the PM speaks, it over-rides the concerns brought up by OKT (and members of the BN coalition parties). Worse still, these so-called leaders accept the words of the PM lock, stock & barrel and nod their heads in approval to show their subservience!

The unilateral use of an oppresive tool like ISA against innocent persons when the actual instigators were not punished and the banning of HINDRAF are proof that UMNO don't need to consult anyone in the BN coalition.

Of late we heard leaders of MCA and Gerakan candidates during their respective party elections talked about being more vocal and standing up to Umno hegemony. But it is not anything we have not heard before.

"Being vocal and being capable of effectively changing policies are two different things" says Shannon Teoh in an article in Malaysian Insider.

People don't need to be rocket scientists to see what is actually happening in the local politics. If these BN lackeys continue with their ways, they will be digging their own graves for the next GE.

Orang yang cakap UMNO a bully tu orang2 yang tak puas hati dan nak memburuk2kan je. Lepas tu nak bagi huru hara dan timbulkan perpecahan.

I have about as much interest in both mca and gerakan elections as dog-races, and I don't gamble. They don't have any principles left.

If BN leaders donot think they have been bullied all the while, it is hopeless to think that they are going to reform. All what they have said about reformation after 308 is nothing but b***S***sss!! Forget about them fellow Rakyat.

Let me be the first to tell you that Singapore is not a perfect society. But in Malaysia, we are citizens but still treated like second class citizens, right!

Let me be honest with you. I am better off in Singapore as a PR than as a Malaysian. In the 10 years I am in Singapore, nobody has told me to get lost and I have never felt like a second class citizen despite being a PR. In Malaysia, you know the story.

I feel so let down to know that Singapore treats us better than our own country. What a shame! Ask any other Malaysians living in Singapore and they will tell you the same.

If I am given a choice to serve in the army of Singapore or my own country Malaysia, I would have no problem choosing Singapore despite you claming it is unfair (and you maybe right too).

Why? Do you think the Malaysia government cares for me to putting my life on the line for the country? Let us be honest.

Like I said, Singapore is not perfect, but it is anytime better than living in Malaysia.

While Singapore government is sincere and doing all the right things, saying all the right things, in contrast, we can't say the same about Malaysia government, filled with hypocrites who only sing song, nice racial harmony song on certain occasions, the once in a year Merdeka speech, in general elections vote-fishing speeches, that is all.

And talks are cheaper than bull shit, or dinosaur shit for sure. Cause on many other occasions, during Umno assembly, meetings in kampung etc, we see the apes come out of their cages, instigating hatred, this is our land, waving keris, we are the tuan, we deserve this and that, we need to be strong so that other races won't get to take advantage of our weaknesses, blah blah blah……….no more Chinese schools, no more funding, blah blah blah. Same old shit from the same old clan of monkeys.

Open your eyes, go and live in Singapore for a few years, then you will feel differently perhaps.

On the surface, Singapore government is doing everything right to forge racial harmony, that is important, because perception is everything.

In Malaysia, we have all the opposite. That is the difference. Big difference. Big mama difference. Huge difference.

When I first lived in Singapore, I had the mentality of a "Malaysian".

Guess what? I now don't think like that. Every time, you hear a speech given by the Singapore prime minister, you know he is speaking from his heart and that matters.

I am a very skeptical person and it is very hard to buy me over unless you are speaking the truth. Do you know the government tells all their citizens in their national day rally speech to welcome us foreigners?

I personally admire the Singapore government, they actually walk the talk, really! I can see this with my own eyes! Nothing is more convincing than this. As for our Malaysia politicians, all they care is their bloody self (MCA, MIC, Umno) and their hoodlums.

The large publics of Chinese, Indians and Malays have to fend for ourselves. Why should I go back to Malaysia if I believe I have a better life in Singapore! I don't want my kids to grow up in an environment where they are told there is a distinction between malays and non-malays. Think about this!

This is my personal answer. The 10 years of being happy in Singapore is nowhere compared to the 30 years of rubbish I have got from Malaysia as a non-malay.

I will pass you my Malaysian passport next year (hope you are happy now).

Yup right, what an irony, I am willing to die for Singapore being a PR and not for Malaysia being a citizen. That shows much we feel we belonged in Malaysia.

In 1994, I tried to apply a scholarship in Malaysia but I couldn't get it due to the impartial system albeit I desperate for a scholarship as I was very poor. I tried to re-appeal but to no avail.

Fortunately, Singapore had offered me a scholarship and I was in fact forced to leave Malaysia no matter how reluctant I was.

Having stayed in Singapore for 10 years now. I salute the Singapore government for its efficiency. Whatever promises they make to the citizens, all will be materialised. This country practises meritocracy and if you capable and work hard, you will definitely be able to hold high post regardless of race.

I agree that Singapore is not a perfect country but it treats everyone in Singapore fairly whereby there is no discrimination at all.

On the contrary, Malaysia marginalises the non-malays which ultimately will have great impact on itself. I believe eventually Malaysia will lose (already lost) the competitive edge in which all the capable and smart non-malays will leave to other countries.

It is no doubt our Malaysia education system is getting down the drain as almost all the key posts are filled with all the cronies who are incapable and apple polisher. Besides, lots of our ministers act like an uncivilised person and speak with no substance.

We have already suffered a high level of brain drain - a lot of Malaysians have left for greener pastures in Australia, Singapore etc. Some of these are my friends and they are very happy where they are.

These are people whom others recognized as huge contributors not only to the company they are working with, but the country as well.

Imagine how great Malaysia would have been, if these people are working in Malaysia, and contributing to the growth here.

A lot of non-malays are feeling the pinch of staying in this Malaysia country, especially when our politicians are becoming more confident about being louder and vocal at being racist to win more votes.

But I have heard very few Singaporeans saying they would prefer Malaysia. I know - I was there for more about 10 years.

Apartheid-like government will always push for apartheid-like policies. The government of Malaysia is clearly not for all races but to the selected one only. All agenda is for that particular race.

Disparity exists, no doubt about that. Studies can be made until the cows come home, still no effort is coming to solve the problem.

Basically this is due to the system. For as long as programmes are geared for political purposes, achieving any success will be just the dreams.

Inequalities must be addressed without indulging in ethnic, religious or state considerations. We should put a stop to even think about them.

Change the government. Change the system. Wouldn't we in our right mind take that chance! Unless we are brave enough don't expect anything would change. The system is now our culture.

Hi Umno gangs, why bother with other country if yours is the crappy one? Hello to retard malays! Correct your own doing first then you can judge others. Typical Umno dog!

You must be one of the NEP byproducts, i.e. mentally less competitive than your fellow Malaysians of other races. It really shows from your statements that you only possess 50% of brain capacity of normal humans.

God help you guys and this country. I can contribute the other 50% if only malays like you would be willing to listen.

Interestingly although while we say bumis have achieved 19% of the country share of economic wealth, we are talking only about malay bumis. The other bumis in particularly the Dayak, Dusun and Kadazan from Sabah and Sarawak in comparison have achieved 0%.

Admittedly these "minority bumis" who sometime referred themselves as second class bumis have been lagging behind the malays, no need to mention the advanced Chinese or Indians.

Whether this situation is by accidence or by design, the failure of the NEP to uplift their livelihood or the false belief that they enjoy being classified as bumis, have become a point of contention to these communities (who are the majority population in East Malaysia).

Please don't make us to laugh!

Let us all go to sleep and wake up in year 2020. Guess what? They will still be crying for the NEP? Why?

It is the same twenty years ago, it will be the same twenty years from now. What would you expect from Umno? They will never allow their brethren the "independence" they so fear.

The reasons are economic and education. If we find the local environments do not suit us and we find there are or have found greener pastures overseas, why should we not go?

This is the age of global economics. Are we Chinese continue to work the old traditional ways to start small business like car repair shops etc, while the game today to global?

Every human being, be it malay or non-malay should have an equal right to reach to the level of his/her ability. Do you see this possible for Chinese without double or triple efforts?

Yes, Malaysia is losing so many talents as a result of NEP and not knowing how much damage had been done. In my own family circles, I have not less than 5 nephews and nieces who are top scorers and opt to be overseas working and doing very well.

The gist is that there is no such thing as having the best of everything. When one implement policies that favours one race to the detriment of another, there is always a price to pay.

The price is already showing from top university status to junk university status. Everything from airline to our currencies are heading south.

Any solution? No definitely not.

An entire community cannot be changed overnight and from recent events it will head further south. Meanwhile just watch what will happen after peak 'oil'.

Remember a lot of Malaysia exports and industries are foreign owned who may pack up anytime to China or India.

Palm oil? Indonesia is overtaking us. What have we left?

Human resources……….what human resources do you have when you churn out degree mills by the thousands of low standards not recognised by the world?

Most people are heading to Australia because many can foresee that in the next 10 years, it will be virtually impossible for a middle income earner to send their children to local university, taking into consideration cost and the infamous 'quota'.

If you are in Australia, a bus driver can afford to send their children to university like Melbourne/Monash/RMIT without digging deep into their pockets. All because their taxes are well managed channeled towards the right direction.

We are all proud but the Umno government they are not proud to have us (non-malays) around as our attitudes and work ethics put most of the malays in shame.

My attitude toward the country changed since 13 May 1969. We all knew it was Harun and Razak who plotted the racial riots and got away with murdering thousands of Chinese.

All my children and grandchildren are in Australia. Some have Bachelors with honours, Masters, PhDs, and etc.

They are no such blatant discrimination like we are having in Malaysia.

My daughter is a professor, son is a financial planner, son in law is a businessman, grandchildren all doing very well.

If they are still in Malaysia, I am sure they just cannot compete with even fourth grade university graduates of Ketuanan Melayu.

So, they are too tired to fight with all the obstacles that the Umno government placed in their path. If you are brilliant, you do not need the 'shit'.

If you intend to emigrate, let me know, I can introduce you a couple of brilliant migration agents from Australia.

San,

Yes, sadly I agree with you. I had a chance a long time ago to work in Singapore but declined because all my family & friends are in Malaysia & I felt the salary was not good enough because of the higher standard of living in Spore.
I do not regret my decision, however, there are times when I "feel" that I should have left.
Yes, you should "give up" your Citizenship & become a Singapore Citizen.
I still love my country despite being a "second-class" Citizen. I still have hope that it will change one day. No, it is not just "day dreaming". Think about it, who would have expected that the Opposition would take Five states away from the BN & deny it 2/3rds majority, a year ago! So it is not false hope.
Yes, many of my friends & family are migrating away. I have Malay friends who have done it too!
I'm sure the next GE will be the end of BN rule in Malaysia.
The Apartheid Regime in South Africa fell, the Nazis fell, Idi Amin fell, Suharto fell, Marcos fell & the BN (Read: UMNO) will one day fall!

Samy forgot what he stated a few months ago, about Tun Mahathir having not done anything for the Indian community. He has also forgotten that the Tun had accused him of not having asked for anything for the community. Didn't Samy have to beg for crumbs for the Indian community, when it should have been freely given. Despite March 8th, Samy continues to grovel.
