Rahim Thamby Chik Willing To Contest Any Post In Umno. My, How Desperate!

Former Melaka Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Rahim Thamby Chik said today he was willing to contest any post in the party including the vice-president or Umno Youth chief if he had the support of grassroot members.

He said he would utilise his experience including as the former Umno Youth chief to restore and consolidate the party.

"As a member of the party, I'm willing to consider contesting any post if there is a support.

"But I've been busy with the Federation of Malay Economic Bodies (Gabem) and hadn't really gauged the support of the grassroots," he told reporters after attending a conference organised by Gabem.

Rahim, who is Gabem chairman, was also asked whether the Umno Youth leadership should be given to young leaders or to the more experienced ones.

"We are following party constitution... it's for Umno members to decide. They are the ones who will be electing their leaders," he said. (Bernama)

He even unashamedly tried to elbow his way into office via Umno Melaka but was humiliatingly defeated by one of his own cronies in a division chairman election. Having tasted power and 'much more' the addiction was too strong and he has tried every trick in the book to make a comeback of sorts.

The present attempt to offer his services for just about any bloody post reflects his desperation. But his willingness to vie for the Umno Youth chief's position takes the cake. The bugger must be at least sixty-years-old and despite his youthful lifestyle and libido it is a ridiculous move even in an outdated and morally bankrupt party like Umno.
