Rafidah Aziz Prepared To Continue Serving As Elected Rep

Wanita Umno chief Datuk Seri Rafidah Aziz said today she was prepared to continue serving as an elected representative so long as the Barisan Nasional (BN) required her to do so.

Everything depended on Prime Minister and BN chairman Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, she said when replying to a question on talk that she might not contest in the March 8 general election.

"You have to direct that question at the prime minister. I am working to ensure that the BN election machinery nationwide is ready," she told reporters after launching a new model of Peugeot and the Peugeot Blue Box, the company's standardised identity retail outlet, here.

Rafidah is one of the most senior members of parliament who first contested in the 1978 general election for the parliamentary seat of Selayang in Selangor. She moved to Kuala Kangsar in Perak in the 1982 general election and has been the MP there since.

The International Trade and Industry Minister said Wanita UMNO was ready to help ensure victory for the BN. (Bernama)

***** As minister many opine that she has done a fine job. There was the AP scandal however which somewhat marred her standing, credibility and reputation but it was not a fatal blow to her position in Umno. With the current emphasis on 'new faces' her detractors in Umno who cannot stand the sight of an independent-minded and outspoken woman (and who probably have an inferiority complex vis a vis Rafidah) might use the opportunity to ease her out.

The AP affair has crucified her, and if Badawi is wise she must go.

She is responsible for Mahathir calling the Government half-past-six, and I hope Badawi remembers this.

Old Fat Meaty Minister must be dropped from Bodolah Bodowi's line-up, otherwise Dr Mahathir will be on the offensive again on APs issue.

Nenek Pidah also said she'd go if she's asked to leave by (deity-can't-be-named-since-i'm-an-infidel).

So that means she will only 'quit' rotting on her seat, cold friggin' dead.

Politicians words/pledges/tipu-antu mana boleh caya punya?

Rafidah Aziz...really, what is so great about her, other than the fact that she has a gung ho personality? Has she achieved anything credible to the advantage of the country, other than talk loudly, and louder than, some of the "boys"? To see her trying to kiss TDM's hands & ass when he went for her jugular in the AP issue...is that the sign of a fighter, or a seasoned @#$% sucker?

Step down old lady...believe me when I say, you've stayed way past your menopause age.

Agree that she is a capable Minister.

But she is also 'dinosaur'-lah.

Let go-lah. The country won't fall apart without you, Rafidah.

How many of our Ministers are Dinosaurs? I say most of them.
Apart from the "AP" Scandal, she has not done a bad job.
Most men can't "handle" a strong woman like Rafidah (especially in a predominantly Muslim Society).
One thing for sure she has more "Gusto" & "Guts" than that wimp we call our PM!

I totally agree[but not fully trust] what the old dirty boy Mahathir said. Cut off the old and dead woods from the old tree in order to proceed with a Good,Efficient Malaysian Government.
Those should be removed from the Government are the Old Fat Ass Rafidah, Toilet Faced Samy Vellu whose Buttocks is keep on bulging with dirty fat, and Misinformation Minister or the Satan Faced Mydin for not requesting Astro not to hike the cost.
