Khairy Jamaluddin, Saviour Of The Malays, Supports Mara Loan Defaulters!

In a classic example of irresponsible exercise of his influence, KJ brought more controversy and attention to himself by coming down strongly on the side of loan defaulters, as if they have been somehow wronged by the authorities! His whole argument smelt of sheer opportunism. Read on.....

Umno Youth is against a proposal by Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) to deduct repayment for outstanding study loans from the borrowers' Employees Provident Fund (EPF). Its deputy chief, Khairy Jamaluddin, said Friday deducting the repayments from the EPF Account II would have a negative effect on the contributors in the future as various payments were made from the EPF accounts.

"I hope that Mara will look at another method to collect the loan repayments because the proposed way would eventually pose a burden to EPF contributors. We (Umno Youth) hope it has not reached a stage where we have to withdraw from the EPF (to repay study loans)," he told reporters.

In the Dewan Rakyat two days ago, Deputy Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Khamsiyah Yeop said discussions were going on between Mara and the EPF on the possibility of making deductions to the EPF Account II of contributors to collect outstanding study loan repayments due to Mara.

Khairy said a study should be conducted to ensure that the method to be employed to collect the repayments did not burden the borrowers in the future. (Bernama)

**** How do you trust a guy like this with future government responsibility? He fully well knows that it is greed and selfishness that motivates these defaulters from repaying what they owe. They have not cared or bothered about others who have been deprived of loans because they dont want to pay. Many of them whom Khairy now wholeheartedly supports, perhaps never had the intention of making good on their loans even at the time of receiving them. Now with such 'caring' and 'affectionate' backing from the nation's first son-in-law, Mara had better kiss goodbye to any hopes that they may have harboured of recovering their money.

I shudder to think what will happen to our country if Khairy Jamaluddin ever becomes the Minister of Finance!!

anonymous 1, I agree that this is just for starters and it is worrying.
anonymous 2, if everyone shared your sentiment on this there, should be no defaulters anymore. But alas...

The reason we worry for a foreign country buying-up interest in our country is worrying enough.! These loan defaulters are the biggest "traitors" to the nation! Haven't they got the decency to pay their dues as good man of good religious up-bringing ?
Pay lah...what you borrowed, bodoh!! And there are really poor and deserving students out there who are deprived because these morons are encouraged by this young up-start who knows nothing of being poor. Can these idiots really go to sleep every night after being such hippocrites the whole day ???
My stand is to shame these ungrateful bastards to pay up. Remember it is the tax-payers money too! and it is not their 'God given right' even if they think they are 'Sons of the earth.
"Shame on the morons who back this idiot who is encouraging this s***!
If EPF has got balls, it MUST go ahead and deduct from their accounts otherwise EPF is managed by guttless cronies !

I am waiting for him to say, "MARA, please write-off the loan. After all it is the Rakyat tax money and why make the fuss".

Hey, good thinking from an OxBridge turks !
