Khairy Jamaluddin Denies Marriage To Actress Maya Karin.
This Bernama report is published without comment.
Umno Youth vice-chief Khairy Jamaluddin said Friday that the time had come for him to answer all allegations and slander levelled at him including a claim that he had gotten married to a popular actress.
He said the attacks against him had become very personal, and as a person with dignity, the slander must be answered quickly especially to members of the party.
Khairy dismissed an allegation that he had two wives, one of them being actress Maya Karin, and wanted people who made the claim to provide proof that he had married another.
"In the name of God, I only have one wife. She is Nori binti Abdullah and I hold to the principle of TTP -- Tak Teringin Pun (not interested in getting a second wife).
"I will use the opportunity of opening over 30 Youth divisional meetings nationwide to explain all the slander and now is the most appropriate time," he told reporters after opening the Pengkalan Chepa Umno Youth delegates conference here.
Khairy said he had kept silent all this while not because of fear but had felt that the time was not right to answer the allegations.
He said if he did not explain when opening the meetings, all the slander would be perceived as true by certain quarters and provide more opportunities for them to blow up the issues.
"I have obligations to the party and when I answer, it does not mean I want to wage war but the objective is to speak the truth," he added.
Khairy has been criticised especially by the Opposition and former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and is said to have a large influence over Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi in decision-making.
Explaining this, Khairy said everyone had the right to make criticisms but they should have the true facts before doing so.
"I see many of the accusations and criticisms are baseless and what I regret is that their attacks are personal.
"They attack me personally after failing to find Pak Lah's weakness and what they do now is attack his son-in-law as though I am not patriotic to the country," he said.
Khairy said he was also sad that the government's explanation on issues raised by Dr Mahathir had yet to satisfy the former premier to the extent that the government had to disclose several confidential documents on the crooked bridge issue.
"The government has taken a risk in disclosing the documents and the matter should have ended but it is still raised again."
He said the movement was also compiling information on an allegation that some parties with interest in several companies in the country were pro-Israel.
He said that when everything was ready, all would be revealed to party members first before the general public.
Before this, Khairy was reported to have said that the disclosure was to inform the people on the products and firms so that they could choose whether to boycott them or otherwise.
Meanwhile, Khairy asked all delegates to the movement's meetings nationwide to discuss the Israeli aggression on Palestine and Lebanon.
He said the issue should be discussed seriously before the movement take pro-active action to urge the Organisation of Islamic Conference and the United Nations (UN) the stop the inhumane acts.
He said the time had come for Islamic countries to form their own peacekeeping force to help deal with such conflicts.
"Umno Youth also wants the UN to abolish the veto power that is held by superpowers like the United States today because it clearly suppresses Islamic countries," he added.

heh i know where maya karim lives.. i'll spy on her :D
Suanie,
I'll provide the coffee for the whole duration of the stake-out. Night-vision goggles will be provided by the Tun.
I'll bet that she has abandoned her residence for some place less 'intrusive'. On the brighter side she could do with the media hype that is sure to follow. So sorry suanie, no point spying. Pity though; mob makes great coffee!!
