Malaysian Bloggers - Heed Caution By Rocky's Bru.
Ahirudin Attan, 'semi-veteran' media man and die-hard journalist. This is one person who knows what he is talking about. Even a cursory glimpse at his blog, Rocky's Bru, gives you a good idea of the knowledge and experience he carries, especially when it comes to the media; its machination and the pitfalls and quicksand that have to be continously negotiated.
When such a person sends out a friendly caution it is time that we took heed. Once in a while many of us tend to be a little less cautious in our posts than we normally are. I have been guilty of this now and then. The thinking is, "I'm sure the authorities aren't going to be really too bothered about us bloggers even if we are out of line."
After the mr brown experience in Singapore, I think it is best that we be a little more circumspect in our comments. I have personally felt after reading some of the posts of our bloggers that the fine line between frank reporting and decency and etiquette has been breached. It is for each blogger to reflect on that, and post according to his or her conscience and common sense.

The comments that I have seen here are tame compared to some silly bloggers who don't know what they write.
Samsung,
What the blogger posts is more important than having wild or tame comments. The Malaysian has been doing a great job as a blogger. Some people read and silently move on. Some, like you and I, leave commnets anonymously. Some use their own names. Whatever.
I have read on some blogs wild comments that are just that - wild! And usually I don't leant anything from such comments and they don't add anything to the issue at hand. Sometimes rambling by self-centred commentors that serve little other than to boost the ego of the sender.
I say, keep it up The Malaysian. And to those like Samsung who leave comments, long live!
To samsung and lubok melayu the Malaysian says ribuan terima kasih.
