Pak Lah Wants 'To Do The Right Things' Before Leaving Office

Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said on Thursday he wants to do the right things despite any challenges before leaving office after five years rendering his services to the nation.

"I don't know if it's about leaving a legacy or just doing the right thing while you have a chance to do so. This is what I am doing," he said in an interview with The Sun newspaper.

Abdullah said he would let the people be the judge.

"If the people say what Pak Lah (Abdullah) is doing is good, well and good," he said.

Abdullah said when he decided on the development of soft infrastructure - the heart, the human being - a long time friend had told him to chose something tangible.

However, he said he was unfazed by this as he believed that 2020 could not be achieved without quality and dynamic human capital.

"I hope everyone as human beings just remember to do what is right, no matter how difficult it may seem," he said.

On freedom of speech, Abdullah said he had given the space but wanted it to come with responsibility.

"If you want to exercise your right to speak, yes, go ahead but you must be mindful of your responsibilities. You claim the right to speak, you must also listen to others," he added. (Bernama)

Ironic isn't it? Pak Lah achieved diddly-squat for the five years he'd been in power and now just when he's being shown the door by his own party he wants to 'do the right things'! Pitiful bugger. Indecisive till the end.

i wonder who is this "old friend" of Abdullah.by the statements above also we can notice start Abdullah still cares about Vision 2020 and what he said was right.you cant go further in life without a decent quality and dynamic human capital.what's the use having the state of the art technology when we have a 3rd class mentality.

so what's the big problem if Abdullah wanna continue his work until the day he vacant his seat?.that's even better than just sit back and do nothing.better to work for the country and be mocked rather than doing nothing and be mocked.

Nak membangunkan insan bukan semudah pembangunan fizikal.

Even school children have been greatly influenced by Grandpak Lah-- they follow the great man's magnificent example by dozing off during lessons in class

Doing the right thing is the only right thing to do, now PL sees.

I'd suggest for him to offer a coalition pact with PR to settle all political disturbances. No fear of pitching MP and all get a share in ruling. No nonsensical issues like race supremacy,...all these are fanned to instigate disharmony among the rakyat and are not beneficial to the country at all. Who is the culprit? UMNO.

So, PL should take the opportunity he has now to get rid of these bad apples in UMNO and to form a coalition with PR, hopefully, all will be pleased and may peace be with the country forever after.

Pak Lah perlukan sokongan daripada rakyat tapi rakyat belum apa-apa dah menolak kepimpinan Pak Lah. Saya yakin Pak Lah mampu untuk selesaikan kerja-kerja beliau sehingga Mac 2009. Jika selepas Mac 2009, rasanya tiada masalah jika beliau teruskan kerja yang belum selesai...

He can start by sacking the Home minister and the Inspector General.

Why? Because one is a dickhead (literally) and the other has smaller testicles than me.

I proved both these claims.

But seriously, they are all idiots and I am just terrified that they are the ones running the country...
