Samy Vellu Admits Government Ignored Non-Malays, BN Partners Not Treated As Equals In Coalition

MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu has told the Internet news portal Malaysiakini that Barisan Nasional should change its mindset whereby equal opportunities must be given to all Malaysians, reported Malaysia Nanban.

He said it would be perilous for the Government if Barisan continued to ignore the other communities.

He also denied that the component parties were subservient to Umno but admitted that they were not treated as equals in the coalition.

He said the downfall of Barisan in the recent general election was due to the dissatisfaction of the people.

He said that while the Government had introduced programmes that were supposed to benefit all the people, they benefited one particular race when implemented.

He said that for Barisan to win the support of Malays and the other communities, it must come out with comprehensive programmes to uplift the economic status of the people in business, their participation in industry, licences and the vendor system that will bring benefit to all in the country.

The Youth and Sports Ministry will soon launch Rakan Cyber as part of Rakan Muda programmes to introduce youths to information and communication technology , reported Tamil Nesan.

Minister Datuk Ismail Sabri Yaakob said his ministry would also provide a blog in two months’ time for them to exchange views and express their opinions. (The Star)

***** Why does it take non-Umno BN political leaders like Sam to come clean only after getting hammered in the elections and losing their cabinet posts? Why didn't they have the guts or the conscience to fight for the rights of their constituents, whom they claimed to passionately represent, when they were in a position to do something positive much earlier?

No matter how much they whine now it is of no use, because we the citizens have been saying these things for a long, long time and all that the BN slaves did was to deny it over and over again and instead placed racist Umno on a pedestal and claimed that everyone was being treated equally! A bunch of hypocrites all of them.

Do all your readers a big favor if you just obliterate Samy & then some like hishsa keris , toyo etc from yr postings and talk about them again only when they are behind bars or dead. We think they have negative publishable value and will downgrade your blog at a mere mention of these scumbaks/leaches of society

A high flying corporate mover told me once a period of unemployment (not too long) is good for cleansing the soul....in Semi deValue's case, I think it needs to be Permanent unemployment to clean his soul.

Let's say Semi Value is being really "nonest" here. Except for the fact that he denied the other component parties were not "subserviant" to UMNO (which we all know is a lie!), he seems to have come clean about what the BN (UMNO) really is!
So, he should either:-

1/ Quit for good as he & the MIC have failed the Indians or
2/ He should suggest that the MIC leave the BN as we all know UMNO have not changed / is not changed & will not change! The MIC would be better off joining the PR

Come on Semi do the right thing for once in your life!

Samy Oo samy, for how many years you sat there and no question asked, like TDM said "Kalau I panggil you makan rumput, you pun makan" but now you suddenly wake up and ask all those question which has been asked by PR. Just resign and dissolve yourself!

A sign of someone who is desperately trying to portray himself as still being relevant in Malaysia politics.

The moment when BN cracks the whip, you can rest assure that he will come with guns blazing that he was misquoted in the press....and as usual, everything will be back to normal. Such is things BN style.

What a load of rubbish from a wash out. If i am an indian, i will be fill with disgust and disgrace from someone who profess to represent me, but then again, I am a Malaysian.

As per Lim Kit Siang website,29 MPs have not submitted any questions for the first sitting of parliament on 28th April. The deadline was 8th April for submission. 5 of the MPs are from DAP. What kind of responsibilities are these MPs having. During election time at the ceramahs they posed many questions for the BN to answer. Now they got elected but failed to submit a single question. Among them Prof.Rama (Batu Kawan), Charles Anthony Santiago (Klang), Fernandez (Seremban. The other 2guys are MP for Bakri n K.Kinabalu. The public should monitor how these MPs are performing in Parliament and in their constituencies. If they overlook basic duties in parliament they should be be screwed up for betraying the aspirations of the millions who voted for the opposition. Screw them from the start b4 the rot sets in deeply. I hope LKS does not hv to battle in parliament virtually all alone once again. Dont spare the rod.

Now that he's been kicked out of the system he complains about the inequality. Quite forgetting he's made millions? billions? in spite of the inequality!
